7-Unit Play. #127. Take Under 58.5 Edmonton vs. Ottawa (Saturday @ 7pm est) (William Hill, CG Tech, Wynn)
We roll with the Under here between these two teams in what we feel like is likely an Under here as we move to 5-2 on the season for more than +$2000 in profit. Note that Edmonton has given up 67 points in their last two games and this team has to be able to bounce-back here both in anger and frustration. It's hard to imagine that this team does not get back on track here on the defensive side of the ball. Sure, the first time these two teams met the final score was 45-37 in extra time (82 points) but that is likely not the case here. As these two teams face each other the second time, more than anything, defense likely takes the day. This is an Edmonton team that has given up 67 combined points both as a -4.5 point favorite and as a -9.5 point favorites. We like Edmonton who bounces back well usually on the defensive side of the ball after a poor effort with back to back losses to get back on track here. Note, Ottawa was a 10 point chalk to Toronto and fell short as well as a 6 point chalk to Saskatchewan on the road and after back to back losses, we belive this team too bounces back with a quality effort as this game likely goes under the posted total. The Under is 5-2 for the Eskimos in their last 7 road games and the Under is 4-0 for the RedBlacks following an ATS loss as well.
For Saturday, Raise the Bar 1500♦ is Seattle with Walker over the L.A. Angels with Skaggs. At 8:30 am eastern time, the Mariners are -105 both in Vegas and offshore. Note: Both listed pitchers must start, or there is NO ACTION on this release.
After a 4 game home split with Boston, the Mariners opened the weekend at home last night with the 6-4 win over the Angels, and I like them to repeat the process here on Saturday night.
Taijuan Walker is back after a month-long stint on the DL as his last start came on July 5th. I know his record doesn't show it, but the kid has potential, and in this near pick spot, prefer to side with him over Angels hurler Tyler Skaggs who is fresh back from Tommy John surgery and making his third start of the season.
So far, so good for Skaggs who has not allowed an earned run in his 12-plus inning back in the rotation.
My question is, just how many more scoreless frames does Skaggs have left to twirl before he gives up a few? I feel tonight is the night he gives up a few.
Seattle is in the mix for a postseason spot, and they have pushed their mark to 2 games over the break-even point, so let's ride 'em tonight at Safeco.
Note: Both listed pitchers must start, or there is NO ACTION on this release.
