No doubt San Francisco has been struggling in the second half of the season, and no doubt either that today's starter Madison Bumgarner has also been struggling, but I will put my hard-earned cash on the southpaw this afternoon as I see yesterday's 7-1 win over Stephen Strasburg being a momentum-builder for today's series finale.


Tanner Roark beat the Giants on July 28th in San Francisco, and stands at 4-0 with a 3.32 in 5 games - 2 of them starts - versus the Giants. Roark is also on a 2-1 roll his last 3 starts, while his counterpart stands at 0-1 for his last 3 starts.


Bumgarner did not start in the end of July 4 game series versus the Nats, but in his last start against Washington (last August), he did go the distance in a shutout win with double-digits in K's.
