6-Unit Play. #603. Take Seattle -3.5 over Atlanta (Wednesday @ 8pm est)
We roll with Seattle here as this is a team that is simply on the rise. This is a team that has the Rookie of the Year in Stewart and has savvy veteran leadership in Bird. Seattle beat Atlanta in an up-tempo game in their last contest and remember, the first two rounds in the WNBA this year are just 1 game and 1 game only single elimination. With Atlanta having Hayes injured and having their leading rebounder likely out to, this will be a tough game. We wish the line would not have jumped as much as it did so we made it a 6-unit selection today. Atlanta is banged up and Seattle is rolling right now with great leadership and we will take Seattle in this 1 game playoff series this evening for a sound win.
4-unit Play. #26661. Take Manchester City -1(-130) Spread over Swansea City. (Wednesday @ 2:45 pm est)(If this match ends in a Tie, it is a Loss, Regulation + Injury Time).
Manchester City have started the 2016/17 season as they did last year under Jose Mourinho, though Mourinho was sacked mid-way through the season after a poor run of form. This Man City side is looking unstoppable even with Aguero who was suspended for the last three matches. Aguero will return for this match which spells danger for fellow Premier League side Swansea City. Man City currently sit top of the table with five wins from five matches and 15 points, two more than second place Everton and four more goals on goal difference. City have put together two back to back 4-0 wins in all competition with a crushing win over Bournemouth on the weekend that also saw a red card for Nolito and a 4-0 win against Borussia M'gladbach in the Champions League opener. City have only conceded four goals in all competitions this season and will look to move closer to another piece of silverware with a victory over Swansea. Regardless of the strength of the side Man City field, there are very few sides that can match their talent. There will be some young names in this side for City, but look for these players to empress with they get minutes. For the host, Swansea City, they enter Wednesday's match in 15th place after five matches with only four points. Swansea's last victory in the League came on the opening weekend against Burnley that ended 1-0. In the last four league matches Swansea has one draw and three losses. The Swans were able to pull together a 3-1 victory in the last round of the English League cup. This will be the 31st meeting between these two sides with man City holding a 19-7-4 record. City have averaged 2.13 goals per match while the Swans have grabbed 1.37 per match. At Swansea each side has six wins and three draws. Man City have been scoring at will this season and facing Swansea with the opportunity to get closer to a piece of silverware will be enough motivation for City. See City blank Swansea with a 3-0 victory.
3-Unit Play. #26641. Take Hull City +1(-190) Spread over Stoke City. (Wednesday @ 3:00 pm est)(If this match ends in a Tie, it is a Win, Regulation + Injury time).
Hull City travel to the Bet365 Stadium to face Stoke City in this midweek clash in the English League Cup. Hull is one of the three newly promoted sides this season in the Premier League and have been holding their own. Hull currently sit in 12thplace on 7 points after five matches, though they are coming off of a bad loss to Arsenal 4-1 that saw Hull play with 10 men for nearly an hour. This will be one of Hull's best chances to have some success this season and will field a strong side, though they started the season with only 14 health first team players. Mike Phelan has done a fantastic job with very little as the manager of Hull and this will be a bit of a reunion for the former Manchester United number two as he faces former United standout Mark Hughes in the other dugout. Hull is a tricky side that has surprised a number of teams this season including Manchester United who needed a 90th+ minute goal to win. For Stoke City their season has been one to forget so far. Currently Stoke sit in last place with one point from five matches having scored only three goals this season. Mark Hughes looks to be the first manager sacked this season and morale is low. In Stoke's last two Premier League matches they have lost to Tottenham 4-0 and Crystal Palace 4-1. This will not be a match to rebound with a huge score line. Stoke may win, but the score line will look like 1-0 or 2-1 in the end. This will be the 59th meeting between these two sides With Stoke holding a 23-16-19 overall record. Both teams are averaging just over one goal per match against each other. This match will be close and boring. Stoke will not be able to cover the spread of one goal. Stoke wins 1-0 or 2-1.
4-unit Play. #26634. Take Northampton Town +2(-140) Spread over Manchester United. (Wednesday @ 2:45 pm est)(If this match ends in a Tie, it is a Win, Regulation + Injury time).
Manchester United enter Wednesday night's match having lost their last three in all competitions. Mourinho made changes in the last match, but they did little as Watford was able to control the match and win 3-1. United are matched up against a League on side and with this lower league side, see United have little trouble. But these Cup competitions can have amazing results. United will need to get off to a fast start to keep their fans on their side. United need to drop Wayne Rooney and give Paul Pogba more freedom that has made him the most expensive player in the world. Both Pogba and Ibra have been absent in the field in the last few matches. United need to do something different to get their season back on track. The Red Devils will be without Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial, so some of the bench players will get runouts tonight. United face Northampton Town tonight who currently sit in 11th place in League One on 11 points from eight matches and had a two match win streak snapped this weekend with a 3-1 loss to Chesterfield FC. This will be the fourth match between these two sides with United winning two of the three and the third being a draw. United hold a 10-3 goal scoring record as well. These sides last met in the 2003/4 FA Cup where United won 3-0. The spread currently sits at 2 goals, United will run out a new lineup and will take at least 30 minutes to settle in today. See United win 3-1 over Northampton Town.
