2 Units on Rory McIlroy 6/1 - We have to go with Rory this week. He absolutely bombs the ball off the tee, has immaculate iron play and the mental ability to win any week. All Rors need to do is putt decently this week and Sunday will be a monster payday for him. Rory finished T2 at East Lake two seasons ago and should enjoy this week a lot. He enters ranked 6th in the Fed EX Cup standings so he essentially will win everything if he wins this week.
2 Units on Jordan Spieth 8/1 - We go with last years winner at East Lake. Spieth won by 4 shots last year here and enters this week in a great spot to repeat as Fed Ex Cup Champion (he sits 7th). Essentially he just needs to win and have DJ and Reed to not finish runner up. It also has to be mentioned that Spieth’s career record here is (WIN, T27, T2). Spieth ranks 2nd on Tour in Strokes Gained through Putting and 3rd in Scoring Average.
1.5 Units on Justin Thomas 60/1 - The youngster is going to have a big week at East Lake. He bombs the ball off the tee (24th on Tour) and that leads to him being 4th on Tour in Going for Green - Green Hit Percentage. Justin’s last great finish was T3 at the Travelers, a week when he shot a closing round 62. He has the game to go that low again at East Lake, and I think he will!
1.5 Units on Phil Mickelson 30/1 - Lefty has won twice at East Lake. Recently he hasn't been great here but I expect some old magic this week. He currently sits in 13th so he will need a bit of help to win the Fed Ex Cup, but much crazier stuff has happened. Phil ranks 5th in Strokes Gained through Putting and 5th in Scoring Average. He also has the length to overpower the Par 5’s, along with his amazing short game. These are great odds for Lefty.
