In a season that’s featured a lot of bad football, the AFC South stands out among all eight NFL divisions. Tennessee is now 0-2 in divisional play and just 1-3 at home this season. Meanwhile the Jaguars (2-4) are currently alone in last place in the AFC South following a 33-16 loss to Oakland. With no team running away in the division, Jacksonville isn’t out of it yet, but neither the Jaguars, nor their head coach, can ill afford another loss. The Jags may not be lost against a fairly mediocre Tennessee pass defense that currently ranks 18th in that category. To make matters worse, Tennessee could be without as many as three starters in its secondary because of injuries. This week, Mariota will be charged with trying to navigate his way around a solid Jacksonville pass defense, led by rookie cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey has been instrumental in limiting some of the NFL’s top wide receivers this season and is a big reason why the Jaguars enter Week 8 sixth in the NFL against the pass. Jacksonville can win outright if they stop the penalties and the turnovers. The Titans are 2-9 ATS playing at home the past two years. The Tennessee Titans have won just three home games since the start of the 2014 NFL season. Blake Bortles has a terrific receiving duo of Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns and needs to get back to his 2015 numbers and stop the INT's. This game will be won on the other side of the ball as in the Jags solid defense play. The defense has been much better than the offense and kept them in the games they have won. They are 9th in the league in total defense and 6th in passing D.
------------------- No Limit---USC
The PAC 12 is an embarrassment to college football this year. Last week, Cal gave up 49 points to Oregon and still won the game. The O/U was 90 and it went over. USC has started to get their offense going in recent game and will be at home for this game. Cal has played well to start the season and plays in high scoring games. USC should find success against a poor Cal defense, while the USC defense is the better defensive unit. The Trojans fell to Utah in Week 4 and then took down Arizona State, Colorado and Arizona. The most recent win against the Wildcats, 48-14, came on the road in Tucson. Sam Darnold had yet another spectacular showing against Arizona with 235 yards and five touchdowns on 20-of-32 passing. Three of those touchdowns went to JuJu Smith-Schuster, who finished with nine catches for 132 yards. There's zero chance that Cal can stop the Trojans. What Cal has cannot be considered a defense, whereas the Trojans are working with ballers in their secondary: Adoree’ Jackson, Leon McQuay III and Iman Marshall. The Trojans also got solid production in the running game. Ronald Jones rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Aca’Cedric Ware added 103 yards and a score on 12 carries. Plus, Dominic Davis chimed in with 89 rushing yards, and Darnold ran for 54 yards of his own. Offensively, USC should put up 52 points. The USC Trojans will aim for their fourth consecutive victory as they defeat the California Golden Bears in a high scoring game. Cal looks to score in the low 30's and lose by 20 points allowing USC to get the win and solid cover. SC's pass defense continues to be their strength and should create some turnovers. The Bear’s leading receiver Chad Hansen missed last weeks game because of an ankle injury. He is listed as questionable for this contest as well. The emergence of freshman QB Sam Darnold can be pinpointed to USC's winning streak. Since he has taken the helm, the youngster has completed 100 passes for over 1,300 yards with 13 touchdowns and only two interceptions. He also benefits from a huge massive offensive line and his three running backs. For SC to win and cover, it may come down to the defense that gets the credit. There’s no question that USC has the better team on the defensive side of the ball they probably will find a way to pick off Cal's QB Davis Webb a time or two considering how much he throws it.
