Much prefer the red hot Nittany Lions here who have produced an outstanding 3.0 explosive plays per game average, as opposed to Wisconsin’s +1.2 per game advantage. Over the last month Penn State has outperformed the Badgers by 14 explosive plays. Penn State struggled in the trenches through the opening month of the season with a negative two sack margin. Since that time Penn State has a + 15 margin in sacks. Better line play is one of the reasons why this team has put up scoring numbers of 45, 39, 45, 41 and 62 points down the stretch.


Wisconsin has relied on forcing turnovers the second half of the season, with a +11 margin the past four games. Keep an eye on Hornibrook's status for the game but as long as he plays Wisconsin has a definite edge here. Take the 1st half line instead of the game line because Penn State hasn't played in a game like this for years or ever played in a Big 10 Championship game where as Wisconsin has won 2 of 3 appearances in the past 5 years with the only loss coming to the eventual national champ Ohio State 2 years ago. Get the full game at -2.5 but the stronger play should be on the 1st half.

This game has lost some luster since neither Ohio State or Michigan made it to Indianapolis. Both teams struggled in the first half last week against inferior opponents but I just feel the defense of Wisconsin will be the difference in this game. Wisconsin has quarterback issues going into this game but those two are very similar and I expect production regardless if it is Bart Houston or Alex Hornibrook. The favorite has won this game three of the last five years. The Badgers defense is allowing over 100 yards less per game than their opponents are averaging. Penn State in their last 7 neutral site games. Wisconsin is 6-1 ATS (1 push) in their last 8 games against teams with a winning record.
