2-Unit Play. Take #512 Memphis (-4.5) over Sacramento (8 p.m., Friday, December 16)
The Grizz are seemingly the mots injured team in the NBA but that has not stopped them from being one of the leagues most consistent. They have an 18-9 record and have knocked off the two top dogs from last season on its way that surprising record. On Saturday they took care of business against the Warriors and Wednesday much of the same against the Champs so they should never be taken lightly. Tonight is an opportunity for Memphis to get out to an early lead against an always-dysfunctional Kings squad but the Cousins against Marc Gasol head to head battle will be worth the price of admission. This should be another Grizz W as they keep rolling along so go ahead and lay the points in Memphis.
1-Unit Play. Take #508 Boston (-7.5) over Charlotte (7:30 p.m., Friday, December 15)
The Celtics have not quite hit their stride this season and inconsistency on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball are mostly to blame but they have had their share of injuries. They have lost Jai Crowder, Al Horford, and Isaiah Thomas for weeks at a time and that would cause problems on any team. They should have Thomas back for this one and that is just what they need against a Hornets team that does everything pretty well. Boston is hoping to build off of last seasons surprise success with a deep postseason run and a team like Charlotte could stand in their way so they want this one. Take the Celtics to start a winning streak tonight 110-101.
Carpe diem. Good luck.
