For Monday, Top-Rated 1000♦ is the Clemson Tigers as the dog against Alabama. At 7:30 am eastern time, the Tigers are +6 1/2 point underdogs both in Vegas and offshore. Special Note: I recommend buying the half-point up on Clemson if your line is either +6 1/2 or +7 points.
Last year in the Championship Game I scored with a 2000♦ on Clemson plus the points. This year I like Clemson plus the points once again, but will only go with a 1000♦ rating due to my recent slump - money management is key!
Listen, no need to write "War and Peace" here in this analysis section, I recognize how good Alabama is - especially on defense - but my real question is whether or not freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts is going to be able to rise to this occasion against a pretty damn good Clemson defense.
'Bama had trouble with Washington's defense, and Clemson's stop unit may even be better. The Tigers did just shutout a pretty accomplished Ohio State team in the last round! Let's see if new offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian can call a better game than Lane Kiffin did in the semifinals, as I thought the Tide offense didn't do much as they simply relied on their defense to carry the night - which it did.
Bottling up the elusive and dangerous Deshaun Watson who didn't seem to be afraid to face Alabama in last year's title game will be the order of the night for the Crimson Tide stop unit.
A year older, a year wiser, and playing with revenge for losing last year's title game are also intangibles that I like working in my favor coupled with the points we are getting.
Again, cannot knock this Alabama team in the least, but my preference is Clemson plus the points in the rematch for all of the marbles in Tampa, Florida here on Monday night.
