Michigan Wolverines at Wisconsin Badgers
A showdown in the Big Ten between Michigan and Wisconsin, takes place on Tuesday night at the Kohl Center in Madison.
Both the Wolverines and Badgers are coming off nice wins. Michigan improved their conference record to 2-3 with a 91-85 victory over Nebraska on Saturday. Wisconsin moved to 3-1 in conference play with a 89-66 thrashing of Ohio State last Thursday. Michigan is looking to get back to .500 while Wisconsin is looking to join Maryland atop the Big Ten Standings.
Both teams seemed to put it all together in their latest home victories. The keyword here is “home”, as the Wolverines have yet to win a true road game (0-4) this season. Conversely, the Badgers are a perfect 10-0 at home, outscoring opponents by nearly 28 points per game on the season and by nearly 22 in their two conference home games. The Badgers have played tremendous defense all season, and are allowing an average of only 58 points per game over their last five games, while Michigan struggles on the road can be attributed to their defense, allowing an average of 83.5 points per game in those four games. Furthermore, Wisconsin has the huge rebounding advantage as the Badgers are averaging nine more rebounds per game than Michigan. After a road setback at Purdue, Wisconsin played their most complete game in the home demolition of the Buckeyes. As good as the #17-ranked Badgers are normally, they are even better at the Kohl Center.
Notable Trends
