For Monday, Raise The Bar 1500♦ is UNC Greensboro as the dog against East Tennessee State. At 10:15 am eastern time, the Spartans are the +6 point underdogs both in Vegas and offshore.


The have handled them in Johnson City on January 12th, 83-79 as the +10 point road dog. They have handled them in Greensboro on February 27th, 72-66 as the +3 1/2 point home underdog, why can't they handle them - or at least take them down to the wire as the +6 point pooch - tonight in Asheville, North Carolina?!?!?!


I am talking about the Spartans of UNC Greensboro stepping up and going toe-to-toe for the full 40 minutes tonight against the 26-7 Buccaneers?


East Tennessee State is just 4-6 against the spread their last 10 when listed as the favorite, including their road loss to UNC Greensboro to close out February.


The Spartans have picked the right time of the year to play their best hoop of the season, as they enter riding a 9-game winning streak (2nd game vs. the Bucs included), and they are a perfect 4-0 against the spread as the dog during their current tear.

Saint Mary’s is 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games
BYU accomplished what many thought impossible; won AT Gonzaga. In fact it was the 3rd straight time BYU had won in Spokane. They have strung together 3 wins in a row, with their last defeat was against this Saint Mary’s squad in Provo. Saint Mary’s is already a lock to be in the NCAA Tournament while BYU has to win the WCC tournament to get their ticket. Saint Mary’s was able to win both games this season by 13 points as they used their experience and depth to wear down the talented but very young Cougars. Beating Gonzaga had to give BYU confidence, but it had to earn the attention of the Gaels. They won’t be looking ahead to a third possible showdown with the Zags in the final. BYU has shown what they can do, but splitting Saint Mary’s margin of victory at a neutral site may be a little much. The favorite is 6-0 ATS in the last 6 matchups between these two. That coupled with the success this season against the Cougars makes me lean to the Gaels in Vegas.
