Going against the big line move here since this game opened Pick'em. Love the Friars since they have been playing very well lately covering8 of their last 10 games overall and they play very strong defense which always helps in tournament action. Don't under estimate the weather impact, this game will be played in Dayton with a lot of fresh snow on the ground, would not be surprised if a lot of these USC players are not used to that kind of weather so they will be off kilter here. Look for the Friars defense to make the difference in this one.

Analysis: Central Florida has a number of factors going that I like. This NIT matchup is a big deal for the Knights, who were picked to finish eighth in the 11-team American Athletic Conference. Instead, Central Florida went 21-11 and 11-7 in league in Johnny Dawkins first year as coach.


Dawkins is familar with Colorado having coached the previous eight seasons for Stanford, Pac-12 rivals of Colorado. The Buffaloes knows far less about Central Florida.


The Bu …ffaloes aren't that excited about playing in the NIT having postseason play seven consecutive seasons, including going to the NCAA Tournament in four of those years. The Buffaloes also may not have their full focus getting to spend some of their spring break in Florida.


The Knights led the nation in defensive field goal percentage holding foes to 36.2 percent shooting. A big factor is 7-foot-6 Tacko Fall. He was the AAC's Defensive Player of the Year. Colorado hasn't seen anyone who cand defend the rim like Fall.

For Wednesday, Raise The Bar 1500♦ is Central Florida as the small home favorite against Utah. At 7:30 am eastern time, the Knights are the -2 point favorites both in Vegas and offshore.


Tough spot for Pac 12's Colorado Buffaloes, as they are making a rather long journey in this NIT opening round, and they are playing a team that is coached by a former Pac 12 coach in Johnny Dawkins.


JD is now at the wheel for Central Florida, and he has this team on the improve. The Knights did drop their AAC Semifinal meeting with eventual champ SMU by 11-points, but they should be revived and ready to make a charge in this NIT.


The Buffs went just 4-8 in true road games this year, and 6-10 overall away from Boulder, while the Knights enter this game 21-11, with 13 wins in their 16 home games this season.


UCF held their opponents to just under 61 points per game, and they do have big man Tacko Fall (7' 6") to clean things up in the paint. All in all, a fun team to watch, and a team that also happens to be on the rise. It would not be a surprise to see Johnny Dawkins take this team to Madison Square Garden - he was able to do it with Stanford after all - in a week or so.


Lay the small home wood with Central Florida, as Colorado's road woes cost them their season tonight.

We roll with Miami here as they hook up against New Orleans in a nic spot here for the Heat. Remember, the Heat lost to New Orleans earlier this year and as New Orleans comes off a huge win by 20+ points, this is a nice let down spot against a Heat team who will undoubtedly get up to face the Pelicans with Davis and Cousins. The question is always how a team handles success and this young core probably doesn't handle that success well here. This is a Miami team that comes off a 4 point loss to Indiana but prior to that is one of the hottest teams in the league. The Pelicans are 1-4-1 ATS on 0 days rest and the Heat are 4-1 ATS coming off a straight up loss and the Heat are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games against the Western Conference.
