For Tuesday, Raise The Bar 1500♦ is Ole Miss as the favorite against Georgia Tech. At 7:30 am eastern time, the Rebels are -5 1/2 point favorites both in Vegas and offshore.
Georgia Tech is a go-with when playing at home - 16-4 after trashing Belmont on Sunday, but they are a go-against when playing on the road - 3-11 away from Atlanta this season!
Stick with that glaring trend, as a trip to NYC is on the line tonight in Oxford when the Rebels finally get to host a game in this NIT Tournament.
Ole Miss played at Monmouth on Tuesday the 14th, and they were able to pull away from a solid Hawks team on their home court where they had been VERY solid all season long. Next up Ole Miss had the pleasure of heading to Syracuse this past Saturday morning where they came from behind to dump an Orange team that was also lights-out at home for the season, 85-80!
Now the Rebs get this game in front of the home crowd, and they have won each of their last 5 at home, covering 4 times. Included is a win over still Big Dancing South Carolina their last time out. Their last home loss comes at the hands of also still Big Dancing Baylor back on January 28th by just 3 points as they did cover that one as the +7 1/2 point underdog.
Go with Ole Miss to take care of business on their home court tonight.
6-Unit Play. #668. Take Ole Miss -5.5 over Georgia Tech (Tuesdya @ 9pm est)
Ole Miss wants to play in the NIT and they are thrilled to get that chance. This is a team that would love the exposure on the national stage when teams like Alabama and many other high quality teams could not get to this level. This is a team that Andy Kennedy has that he knows will be better in the coming years as they are young with the likes of Burnett, Davis, Neal, Tyree and Justas. This team started playing much better near the tail end of the regular season and it showed including beating South Carolina at home by 5 points, losing to Arkansas by just 1 point in the SEC Tournament, beating Syracuse on the road by 5 points, beating Monmouth by 8 points on the road, beating Vandy by 7 points on the road and losing to Florida by just 7 points on the road as well. This is a team that is top 60 in offense and top 100 in defense and though Tech is a very good defensive team they are outside the top 200 in offense and that will be key here as Ole Miss enjoys the familiarity of home on the offensive end today and they will get up to play the ACC Squad today without a doubt. Remember, Tech is outside the top 300 in effective field goal percentage and outside the top 270 in 3 point field goals as well. Pastner has done a great job with this team in his early tenure but this will be a tough task to ask this team to head on the road for a big contest when Ole Miss will be rocking. Rebels win by double-digits likely this evening and it's a decent public fade to boot
