For Tuesday, Raise The Bar 1500♦ is Georgia Tech minus the points against CS Bakersfield. At 8:30 am eastern time, the Yellow Jackets are -2 point favorites both in Vegas and offshore.
Last Tuesday night, I went with Ole Miss as a 1500♦ release at home over Georgia Tech, and as I pointed out then, the Yellow Jackets had only won 3 road games all year long as they hit the court in Oxford.
You all know what happened, as G-Tech toyed with a very hot Ole Miss team, and punched their ticket to this semifinal meeting with CS Bakersfield with a 74-66 outright underdog win!
First year coach Josh Pastner has his team playing some tough defense, as the Jackets have allowed an average of just 62-points per game in winning their 3 NIT tilts heading into tonight.
That defense coupled with the presence of big man Ben Lammers (20 points, 8 blocks in quarterfinal win) in the paint, and Josh Okogie (26 points in the quarters) presenting matchup problems for the Roadrunners will make the difference in tonight's contest.
Gotta give CS Bakersfield credit for getting to the Big Apple with 3 road wins in this tourney, and the line on this game tells me that the oddsmakers are not expecting this one to be a blowout at all.
I don't think it will be easy for the ACC rep either, but I do think Georgia Tech gets the win and cover and plays on Thursday for the NIT Title.
7-unit Play. #225229. World Cup Qualifying - South America. Take Argentina -1/2(-120) Spread over Bolivia. (Tuesday @ 4:00 pm est). (For Argentina to Win, they must Win by 1 or more goals, Regulation + Injury time).
After last week's 1-0 win against Chile at home, Argentina have gotten their World Cup qualifying campaign back on track. Lionel Messi missed the first four matches in qualifying and Argentina struggled to find goal production in his absence. Since his return however, Argentina have looked strong and are hoping that this generation of superstars will live up to the hype as they have failed to lift a major trophy. Argentina enter this match on a two-match winning streak after having been winless in their previous four-matches. A 3-0 win at home to Colombia and a 1-0 win at home to Chile have Argentina in third place in South America qualifying on 22 points after 13 matches, one point behind Uruguay and one point above Colombia. Brazil have already qualified out of this group and Argentina will look to make a strong case with a win against lowly Bolivia on Tuesday. For the Bolivians, they ate on ninth place in qualifying on seven points, eight points behind eighth place Peru and one point above last place Venezuela. Bolivia lost their last match to Colombia 1-0 away, however they did beat Paraguay 1-0 at home in November. Bolivia have won two of their last 15 matches and have looked like a team that does not belong on the same pitch as many of their opponents. Look for Argentina to press high in the early stages of this match and score early. Should Bolivia hold on to a scoreless first half they will take a great deal of confidence in to the second half. 5-unit Play. #225253. World Cup Qualifying - CONCACAF. Take USA -1/2(+110) Spread over Panama. (Tuesday @ 10:05 pm est) (For the USA to Win, they must Win by 1 or more goals, Regulation + Injury time).
The USA's World Cup qualifying has not gotten off to a great start. The USA sacked its manager after losing their first two matches of the HEX and entering last Friday's match in last place in CONCACAF qualifying. With second-time manager Bruce Arena taking charge of the stars and stripes the USA came out against Honduras like no other USA team has, the Americans won the match 6-0 moving them into fourth place in qualifying on three points, level with Trinidad and Tobago and Honduras but with a better goal difference. A win against Panama will shoot the USA into third place on six points, jumping their opponent into a qualifying spot. The USA will have Jermaine Jones back from a one-match band and Clint Dempsey returned against Honduras with a hat-trick. Should the USA show the same fire against Panama as they did against Honduras, this will not be a close match. The USA are now on a three-match unbeaten run with two wins in a row. For the host, Panama enter this match in third place in qualifying on four points, one ahead of the USA and two behind second place Costa Rica. Panama lost their last match 1-0 in Trinidad on Friday and will hope to rebound against the USA on Tuesday. The lost to Trinidad snapped a two-match winning streak for Panama that dated back to January and the Copa Centroamericana. The Panamanians will use their speed against the USA, but see the midfield of the USA counter this speed with possession. The USA continues its run with another victory. 3 of 4 Winning Days in March Madness: 4-1 Run for +$840
