        MLB BASEBALL PLAYS

7 Unit Play. Take #959 Under 10 -110 San Francisco at Colorado (8:40p.m., Friday April 21)
Last night in Arlington, Texas we cashed another total ticket as the UNDER had no problem cashing as the Rangers won 1-0 in extra innings. Tonight we are looking for another total winner and we believe tonight at Coors Field (yes Coors Field) we should see a low scoring game. Both the San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies are trending UNDER games as the Giants last 4 games all 4 of them have gone UNDER and 8 out 10. Colorado gets this game at home and their last 4 games all 4 of them have gone UNDER and them as well 8 out 10. Johnny Cueto gets the ball tonight for the Giants and he is 3-0 with a 3.79 ERA this year but against the Rockies Cueto is 8-2 with 2.25 ERA and I see him keeping the ball in the ballpark. Rockies hand the ball to Chatwood tonight and his last outing he beat the Giants 5-0 and tonight I see this game going way UNDER the total. Throw in that the weather will be in the mid-40's tonight so that should also keep the ball in the ballpark. Giants have struggled to score runs in their last 4 games only scoring 5 runs total in their last 4 games. With the struggles continuing tonight for the Giants this game hits and we cash 4-Straight baseball tickets. The San Francisco Giants are 1-6 O/U in their last 7 games against NL West teams and the Rockies are 0-8 O/U following a loss. Last 11 meetings between these two teams 8 of them have gone UNDER the total.

          3-Unit Play. Take #973 Detroit (-135) over Minnesota (8 p.m., Friday, April 21)

Yeah, I will back Justin Verlander in this spot. I think he is going to be pissed after getting rocked by Cleveland. He gave up nine runs in that start and Verlander has always been a guy that bounces right back. He has had an extra day of rest, which is important early in the season, and I expect him to take that frustration out on a Twins lineup that is scuffling. Verlander has owned the Twins and is 13-5 in his last 18 starts against Minnesota. In fact, all of the trends in this one point to the Tigers. Detroit is 20-7 in their last 27 games against the Twins and 38-18 in their last 56 games in Minnesota. Detroit is 22-6 in the last 28 series openers they've had while Minnesota is just 5-16. The Twins are 5-21 on Fridays and they are just 19-42 in their last 61 home games against a team with a winning record. The Tigers should scratch out enough to back Verlander here.

          3-Unit Play. Take #963 Miami (-115) over San Diego (10 p.m., Friday, April 21)

The Marlins had a day off yesterday to regroup after their series loss up in Seattle. They needed it. San Diego, on the other hand, had to play and they haven't had a day off in over a week. They have been one of the worst teams in the league against left-handed pitching and I think that they are going to struggle with Adam Conley today. Conley has been good in his two starts this season and Miami has won each of them. Trevor Cahill, on the other hand, is a retread. He hasn't been a regular starter since 2014 and that year he went 3-12 with a 5.61 ERA. He got popped by both the Dodgers and Braves, giving up seven runs and 15 base runners in just over 11 innings, and I don't expect much more from him here. The road team has won six of nine in this series and I think Miami strikes first in this one.

2-Unit Play. Take #971 Cleveland (-150) over Chicago White Sox (8 p.m., Friday, April 21)

I'll take Corey Kluber at this price. I think that the White Sox have played above themselves just staying at .500, whereas Cleveland is yet to get it going. The Whtie Sox beat Cleveland in a three-game set last week and the Indians are going to want some revenge. Jose Quintana has lost all three of his starts this year and the Indians should get to the lefty again here. Kluber hasn't been at his best yet, sporting a 6.38 ERA, but he has a 3-to-1 strikeout to walk ratio so he's just been a bit unlucky early in the year. He's also faced three really good lineups and I think that he will dominate the overmatched Sox in this one. He shut them down in both starts against the Sox last year and the Indians are 20-7 in his last 27 starts.

4-Unit Play. SERIES PLAY: Take Miami (-130) over San Diego

Note: This is a SERIES PLAY. Your book probably has it under props or futures. This is a wager on which team - Miami - will win the series. That means they have to take two of three games from the Padres this weekend.

          Today's Totals

          2-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 8.0 N.Y. Yankees at Pittsburgh (7 p.m., Friday, April 21)

          Carpe diem. Good luck.

3-Unit Play. Take #979 New York Yankees (-105) over Pittsburgh (7 p.m., Friday, April 21)

The Yankees are hot! They have won 9 of 10 games and won three straight series. This is one of the hottest teams in baseball. The Yankees are making the short trip over to Pittsburgh and they should beat up the Pirates, who were just swept by the lowly Cardinals, scoring just three runs in three games. This Pirates team was also swept by the Reds so they have been erratic. The Yankees are backing C.C. Sabathia right now and he looks great. He is 3-0 and has just a 1.47 ERA. The Pirates are going with Tyler Glasnow and he has been terrible. He has a 12.15 ERA. And going back to last year he has made six career starts and is 2-4 with a 7.04 ERA. Sabathia is the easy call in this one.

            2-Unit Play. Take #958 Milwaukee (+110) over St. Louis (8 p.m., Friday, April 21)

The Brewers have been playing good baseball. They are above .500 right now and that is more than I can say for the Cardinals. Milwaukee scored a comeback win last night and that momentum should continue today. Adam Wainwright is getting a lot of respect from the books and the public. But he is not the pitcher he once was. He has a 7.24 ERA and a 2.20 WHIP this season and is 0-3 in his three starts, getting roughed up each time and not pitching past five innings. Wily Peralta has been the opposite. He is 3-0. He has been razor sharp. The Brewers have one of the league's hottest hitters in Eric Thames and I think he will lead them to another win today. Take the Brewers.

4 Unit Play. Take #953 Washington Nationals +130 over New York Mets (7:10 PM, Friday, April 21)

The Washington Nationals will look to extend their win streak to five games when they hit the road to take on the Mets at City Field in New York, NY on Friday night. Tanner Roark (2-0, 3.50 ERA, 0.89 WHIP) will get the start for the Nationals and he will be opposed by Jacob deGrom (0-0, 1.89 ERA, 0.84 WHIP), who is scheduled to get the call on the hill for the Mets. Washington has posted a 7-2 record in their last nine road games where they faced a right-handed starter and they have gone an excellent 9-3 in Roark's last twelve games where he faced a NL East Division rival. The Mets, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here tonight as they have gone just 1-4 in their last five games where they faced a right-handed starter and they have lost five of deGrom's last six starts. Throw in the fact that the Nats have gone a lights out 39-14 in their last 53 trips to Citi Field and we'll take them at the underdog price to get the road win in New York on Friday night.

4 Unit Play. Take #959 San Francisco Giants -120 over Colorado Rockies (8:40 PM, Friday, April 21)

The San Francisco Giants will look to bounce back from their 2-0 loss to the Royals on Wednesday night when they hit the road to take on the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field in Denver, CO on Friday night. Johnny Cueto (3-0, 3.79 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) will get the start for the Giants and he will be opposed by Tyler Chatwood (1-2, 3.54 ERA, 1.03 WHIP), who is scheduled to get the call on the hill for the Rockies. The Giants have posted a 6-1 record in their last seven games following a day off and they have gone an excellent 4-1 in their last five games following a loss. The Rockies, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here tonight as they have gone just 1-5 in their last six home games where they faced a right-handed starter and they have lost four of Chatwood's last five starts at Coors Field. Throw in the fact that the Giants have gone a perfect 5-0 in Cueto's last five starts against the Rockies and we'll take them at the pickem or so price to get the road win in Denver on Friday night.

4 Unit Play. Take #979 New York Yankees -110 over Pittsburgh Pirates (7:05 PM, Friday, April 21)

The New York Yankees will look for their tenth win in their last eleven games when they travel to take on the Pirates at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA on Friday night. CC Sabathia (2-0, 1.47 ERA, 1.04 WHIP) will get the start for the Yankees and he will be opposed by Tyler Glasnow (0-1, 12.15 ERA, 2.55 WHIP), who is scheduled to get the call on the hill for the Pirates. The Yankees have posted a 6-1 record in their last seven games where they faced a right-handed starter and they have gone an excellent 20-7 in Sabathia's last 27 interleague starts. The Pirates, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here tonight as they have gone just 3-7 in their last ten home games versus a team from the American League and they have lost 23 of their last 31 games when facing a team with a winning % of .600 or higher. Throw in the fact that the Yankees have gone a lights out 9-3 in the last twelve head to head meetings between the two teams and we'll take them at the pickem or so price to get the road win in Pittsburgh on Friday night.
