4 Unit Play. Take #905 Philadelphia Phillies +180 over Chicago Cubs (2:20 PM, Thursday, May 4)
The Philadelphia Phillies will look to split their four-game series with the Cubs when the two teams meet at Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL on Thursday afternoon. Zach Eflin (0-0, 1.89 ERA, 0.68 WHIP) will get the start for the Phillies and he will be opposed by John Lackey (2-3, 5.10 ERA, 1.33 WHIP), who is scheduled to get the call on the hill for the Cubs. The Phillies have posted a 6-2 record in their last eight games where they faced a starting pitcher with a WHIP higher than 1.30 and they are 4-1 in Eflin's las five starts going back to the 2016 season. The Cubs, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here as they have lost four of their last five home games versus a team with a losing record. We don't look at umpire trends all that much but it can't be ignored that the Cubs are just 5-13 in their last eighteen games when Dan Bellino was calling the balls and strikes so we'll take the Phillies at the nice underdog price to get the road win and series split in Chicago on Thursday afternoon.
4 Unit Play. Take #907 Colorado Rockies +100 over San Diego Padres (3:40 PM, Thursday, May 4)
The Colorado Rockies will look for a series win over the Padres when the two teams meet at Petco Park in San Diego, CA on Thursday afternoon. Kyle Freeland (3-1, 2.93 ERA, 1.45 WHIP) will get the start for the Rockies and he will be opposed by Luis Perdomo (0-0, 4.96 ERA, 1.29 WHIP), who is scheduled to get the call on the hill for the Padres. The Rockies have posted a 4-1 record in their last five games where they faced a team with a losing record and they have gone an excellent 9-3 in their last twelve games versus a NL West Division rival. The Padres, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here today as they have gone just 3-8 in their last eleven games following a loss and they are an awful 18-40 in their last 58 Game #3's of a series. Throw in the fact that the Rockies have won four of Freeland's last five stars overall and we'll take them at the even money or so price to get the road win in San Diego on Thursday afternoon.
4 Unit Play. Take #909/910 Arizona Diamondbacks vs Washington Nationals Over 8 (1:10 PM, Thursday, May 4)
Two teams that have been trending to the over will meet when the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Nationals at Nationals Park in Washington DC on Thursday afternoon. Braden Shipley (4-5, 5.27 ERA, 1.54 WHIP in 2016) will get the start for the Diamondbacks and he will be opposed by Max Scherzer (3-2, 2.94 ERA, 0.98 WHIP), who is scheduled to get the call on the hill for the Nationals. Arizona has posted a perfect 4-0 record to the over in their last four games following a game where they scored two runs or less and they have gone an excellent 18-6-2 to the over in their last 26 games when facing a starter with a WHIP of 1.15 or lower. The Nats have been an over team as well in the spot they are in here today as they have gone a perfect 7-0-1 to the over in their last eight games where they faced a right-handed starter and they are an excellent 8-1-1 to the over in their last ten games overall. Throw in the fact that these two teams have gone 7-3 to the over in their last ten head to head meetings in Washington along with going 13-3 to the over in their last sixteen overall and that's where we'll have our play as we expect both starters to struggle a bit in DC on Thursday afternoon.

Ian Kennedy (0-2, 2.30 ERA, 0.99 WHIP) will get the start for the Royals and he will be opposed by Derek Holland (2-2, 2.17 ERA, 1.14 WHIP), who is scheduled to get the call on the hill for the White Sox. The Royals have posted a 7-2 record in their last nine games where they faced a team with a winning record and they have gone an excellent 7-1 in Kennedy's last eight starts following a game where the team scored five runs or more. The White Sox, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here today as they have gone just 17-37 in their last 54 games where they faced a right-handed starter going back to the 2016 season. Throw in the fact that the Royals have gone 19-7 in their last 26 home games versus the White Sox and 39-19 in the last 58 head to head meetings overall and we'll lay the small price with them here to get the home win in KC on Thursday afternoon.

The Houston Astros will look to extend their win streak to five games when they take on the Texas Rangers at Minute Maid Park in Houston, TX on Thursday afternoon. Joe Musgrove (1-2, 4.88 ERA, 1.34 WHIP) will get the start for the Astros and he will be opposed by AJ Griffin (2-0, 4.11 ERA, 0.85 WHIP), who is scheduled to get the call on the hill for the Rangers. Houston has posted a 6-1 record in their last seven home games where they faced a right-handed starter and they have gone an excellent 16-5 in their last 21 games versus an AL West Division rival. The Rangers, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here today as they have lost five straight road games and they are an awful 3-10 in their last thirteen games versus a team with a winning record. Throw in the fact that the Astros have won the last four head to head meetings between the two teams and we'll the price with them here to get the home win in Houston on Thursday afternoon.

Two teams that have been trending to the over will meet when the Los Angeles Angels take on the Mariners at Safeco Field in Seattle, WA on Thursday night. Alex Meyer (0-0, 4.91 ERA, 1.64 WHIP) will get the start for the Angles and he will be opposed by Ariel Miranda (2-2, 3.81 ERA, 1.23 WHIP), who is scheduled to get the call on the hill for the Mariners. Seattle has posted an 8-2 record in their last ten Game #3's of a series and they have gone an excellent 5-2 to the over in Miranda's last seven home stars. The Angels have been an over team as well in the spot they are in here tonight as they have gone 7-2-2 to the over in their last eleven games following a game where they scored five runs or more. Miami has posted a 7-1 record to the over in their last eight interleague games where they faced a right-handed starter and they have gone an excellent 7-3-1 to the over in their last eleven games following a win. The Rays have been an over team as well in the spot they are in here tonight as they have gone up and over the number in each of their last six home games and they are 20-7 to the over in their last 27 home games where they faced a right-handed starter. Throw in the fact that these two teams have gone 7-3 to the over in their last ten head to head meetings at The Trop and that's where we'll have our play as we expect both starters to struggle a bit in St Pete on Thursday night.

3 Unit Play. Take #903 Over 7.5 +105 Milwaukee at St. Louis (7:15p.m., Thursday May 4)
Yesterday this game was rain out so tonight we should see some offense from both NL Central teams. Cardinals are throwing out Adam Wainwright tonight and he has not looked like the old Wainwright as of late and when he is off he gets rocked early. Wainwright is 2-3 this year with an ERA of 6.12 and his last outing at home the Cards beat the Blue Jays 6-4 and that game easily went OVER the total. Brewers last 5 road game 4 of them have gone OVER and the Cardinals are 7-1 O/U in their last 8 games.
2-Unit Play. Take #920 Kansas City (-130) over Chicago White Sox (2 p.m., Thursday, May 4)
Ian Kennedy has been great for the Royals this year. He has a 0.99 WHIP and a 2.30 ERA for the season and has been even better lately, posting a 0.74 WHIP and 1.33 ERA in his last three starts. Kennedy has had a lot of success against this group of White Sox and I expect him to dominate here. The Royals have taken two of three games in this series and this team looks like it is starting to hit the ball a little bit. They have scored 28 runs in their last seven games, which is a major step up for them. The Royals are 39-19 in their last 58 games against the White Sox and they are 19-7 in their last 26 at home against Chicago. Play the Royals here.
3-Unit Play. Take #907 Colorado (+100) over San Diego (3:40 p.m., Thursday, May 4)
Luis Perdomo is not a Major League pitcher and I'll gladly bet against him every time he takes the mound. Perdomo has allowed 11 runs in the 16 innings he has worked so far this season and he's lost his last two starts. That's consistent with what he's done in his two pro seasons, allowing 110 runs in 162 innings of work. Colorado has an excellent lineup and I think that they will be able to jump all over him. Colorado is going with Kyle Freeland, who has been really good in four of his five starts this season. His one poor start, ironically, came against the Padres. But I think Freeland will get a little revenge here. San Diego is the third-worst team in baseball against left-handed pitching, hitting just .202 as a team. And Freeland has just a 1.17 ERA in his four other starts this season. I think Colorado wins this game and this series.
