The New York Yankees will look to extend their win streak to six games when they hit the road to take on the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA on Monday night. Masahiro Tanaka (5-6, 6.55 ERA, 1.50 WHIP) will get the start for the Yankees and he will be opposed by Alex Meyer (2-3, 4.08 ERA, 1.47 WHIP), who is expected to get the call on the hill for the Angels. The Yankees have posted a perfect 4-0 record in their last five games where they faced a right-handed starter and they have gone an excellent 19-9 in their last 28 games when facing a team from the AL West. They have also gone a perfect 8-0 in Tanaka's last eight road starts where he faced a team with a losing record and they have won 21 of his 26 starts versus a team with a losing record overall. The Angels, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here tonight as they have gone just 2-5 in their last seven games when facing a team with a winning % of .600 or higher and they have that same 2-5 record in their last seven when facing a pitcher with a WHIP of 1.30 or higher. They have also lost four of their last five home games when facing a team with a winning record on the road and they are just 2-5 in Meyer's last seven starts overall. Throw in the fact that the Yankees are a lights out 18-6 in the last 24 head to head meetings between the two teams and we'll lay the short price with them here to get the road win in Anaheim on Monday night.
