4 Unit Play. Take #959 NY Mets(-105) over San Francisco (7:15 p.m. Saturday, June 24)
The Mets and Giants both had high hopes coming into the season but the injuries have piled up and derailed both teams chances of getting back to the playoffs. The Mets snapped a 4 game losing streak last night by pounding out a season high 20 hits and I think they will be able to continue with that kind of offensive production with the way San Francisco's scheduled started Johnny Cueto has been pitching lately. Cueto is 0-3 with a 4.56 ERA in four June starts allowing 6 home runs over those contests. Jacob DeGrom will be on the mound for the Mets and he is 3-1 with a 3.62 ERA in 5 career starts against the Giants. DeGrom has been less than perfect on the road this year as he is 3-1 with a 5.19 ERA in 6 starts but his offense has provided him with 56 runs over those contests and I think they will produce tonight as well. The Mets are 4-0 in their last 4 road games versus a team with a losing home record while the Giants are 1-8 in their last 9 games versus a right handed starter. I like DeGrom to lead the Mets to a win here.
7-Unit Play. Take #962 Arizona (-1.5, -110) over Philadelphia (10 p.m., Saturday, June 24)
I think that this one will be another blowout for the Diamondbacks. The Phillies are the worst team in baseball. They were able to beat the Diamondbacks in the first game of this series. But I think that Arizona is going to bounce right back. They were coming off a big series win over Colorado and had a letdown. The road team has won 10 straight games in this series! That is an amazing streak. But it is going to come to an end today. Rookie Ben Lively is just 1-3 in his four starts and teams are starting to catch up to him. Arizona has gone 25-10 in their last 35 games and Philadelphia is 13-38 in their last 51 road games. The Diamondbacks are 36-16 in their last 52 home games and I do not think that they will lose two in a row to the lowly Phillies. Play Arizona.
