2*MLB: Take #965 White Sox v #966 Rangers OVER (11 -105) (8:05 PM EST) at 5Dimes

This series has only gone under once during the past nine games played in Arlington. Look for the Over trend to continue today with a pitching matchup of Reynaldo Lopez versus Tyson Ross. I can easily envision each team scoring at least five runs apiece. The Rangers have scored six or more runs in five of their last six games. They are averaging more than nine runs during their last three games. Lopez will be making his second start of the year. He had a 4.91 ERA pitching for Washington last season making 11 appearances, including six starts. Lopez has a high ceiling, but isn't major league caliber yet and not used to facing AL teams and a DH. Pitching at Arlington this time of season - when the weather is hot and muggy - is very rough, too. It really favors the hitters. Ross is working his way back into shape following assorted injuries. His control and stamina remain lacking. He's worked fewer than six innings in all but one of his eight starts and he yielded five walks during his last start this past Saturday in fewer than six innings.

2* CFL: Take #351 Edmonton v #352 Winnipeg OVER (58½ -108)(8:30 PM EST) at 5Dimes

Look for a quarterback shootout here between Mike Reilly and Winnipeg's Matt Nichols. The Eskimos are averaging more than 29 points a game with Reilly and rank No. 1 in yards gained. Reilly has thrown the third most touchdowns and third most yards in the CFL this season. Edmonton's offense should be even better with the expected return of offensive line starters Danny Groulx and Justin Soresnon. Also Duke Williams should be back. He's one of the Edmonton's better receivers. Winnipeg gives up the second-most points in the CFL. But the Blue Bombers are the No. 2 scoring team in the league with Nichols developing into a star. Winnipeg has scored 33 or more points in each of its last five games. Nichols catches a break in that the Eskimos have a cluster injury problem in their defensive line. Note, too, the Over has cashed seven of the last eight times when the Blue Bombers have met a foe from the Western Division.

  The Winnipeg Blue Bombers ruined our chance to go to 8 CFL winners in a row last week as we totally underestimated their road ability and more of the fact over estimated the Tiger Cats who are in more trouble than we thought. We usually never like to stand in front of a winning streak but we believe tonight is a great spot to do so and we will take the Blue Bombers to give the Eskimos their first loss of the year. Going into their game against Ottawa last week here is what Edmonton had on the injured list four linebackers, three defensive backs, three offensive linemen, two running backs, two receivers, a defensive lineman and four special teams players. That’s a lot of injuries and not too many if any of those guys will be back for Thursday’s game. What did happen last week is that Edmonton lost 2 starting defensive lineman in Almondo Sewell and Marcus Howard late in the Ottawa game and that will be HUGE to the result of this contest. The Eskimos have a full week to prepare for this game but because of all the injuries, HC Jason Maas had to change the practice schedule and not even practice one day.
  The Blue Bombers are one of the top offensive teams in the league and this will be their only home game in the month of August, so we believe they will come out flying for their crazy home fans. The Blue Bombers have won three games in a row, and they are finding ways to win. Winnipeg is on a short week which often happens in the CFL. We do like the fact that they are at home for this game and the Eskimos will be playing their second road game in a row. The Blue Bombers had a closed practice on Tuesday and we believe HC Mike O’Shea will have a few tricks up his sleeve for the Eskimos.
  In conclusion, we see the injuries to the 2 DL hard to overcome especially with the remade OL of the Eskimos. Winnipeg has been the Eskimos bitch for a long time now. Edmonton has won 12 out of the last 13 regular-season games between the clubs. This is the perfect time for Winnipeg to get some revenge. The Blue Bombers lead the CFL with 10 interceptions and we see QB Mike Reilly having more pressure then he has been used to and throwing up a couple of INT’s. At the time of this writing, we are getting one point with the Blue Bombers but we will not need it as they will win the game OR.
  So lets get the job done with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
