  The Pittsburgh Pirates come to Great American Ballpark after losing three out of four games to the LA Dodgers. The Pirates are now 8 1/2 games out of a wild-card spot and need to go on a large winning streak if they have any chance of making the playoffs. Tonight we believe they will get the offense going as the face the Reds RH Robert Stephenson (1-4, 6.13) Stephenson has had one of those years for the Reds. In April and May, he was coming out of the Reds bullpen, then he was sent down to Triple-A for June. He was on the DL at the beginning of August and now he will be making his fifth start of the year for the Reds. Although he has been pitching well of late we must remember in 8 starts last year he sported a 6.08 ERA. In addition, the last time he faced these Pirates at Great American Ballpark he came out of the pen to allow 4 runs in 2 2/3 innings.
  The Reds will face the Pirates RH Ivan Nova (11-10, 3.81 ERA) and they have had the best of Nova so far this year. In 12 innings pitched Nova has allowed 8 runs to the Reds. These games were earlier in the year when Nova was pitching very well. He comes into this game sporting a 5.00 ERA with a WHIP of 1.50 in his last 3 starts. We believe the Reds will get to him again tonight.
  Backing our selection is the fact that the OVER is 9-2 in Reds last 11 vs. National League Central and the fact the OVER is 5-1 in Pirates last 6 games vs. a right-handed starter. The line at the time of this writing is 9 1/2 and our numbers had this line at 10.3 so tons of value here as well, as this game soars well over the posted total.
