For the first time this season, we have a board full of games with only 1 team - Pittsburgh- favored to win by more than a TD (8 pt favs over Jacksonville)
We have the battle of 2 of the 0-4 teams and a lot of games where a field goal could be the difference.
I'll start in the toxic North Jersey swamplands where the Giants are 3-pt favs over the Los Angeles/SanDiego/Carson Chargers. Giants have no run game, Chargers have no run defense, so what gives? Phillip Rivers can score quickly, the Giants can only score with the deep ball as well, but since the Chargers have no idea of what home field advantage sounds like, I think the G-men find a way to win and cover the 3
The Eagles are 6 1/2 favs over the pesky Arizona Cardinals in Philly. Larry Fitzgerald is 34, but still the most savvy receiver in the NFL. Carson Wentz will need another huge day from his O-Line and run game and the Eagles D needs to force Carson Palmer into ints and sack fumbles. I think the Philly birds find a way to win, but ARIZONA keeps it close enough to cover the 6 1/2
Cam Newton had a good week last Sunday and a bad week in the media and marketing and he's in Detroit against a Lions team that is legit. Newton has 5 tds and 5 ints so far, so I need more to get back on his bandwagon. LIONS win and cover the 2 1/2
Finally, Dallas at home with an eye on revenge and on the scoreboard as they take on a GB Packers team which helped knock them out last year. Cowboys will also know the outcome of Philly/Arizona game - which while not an divisional game - could see Dallas fall 2 games behind Philly if the Eagles win. Pack run game is banged up, so I see DALLAS winning and covering the 3 pts
