Note this is a 1st 5 inning Wager: There is no one pitching better than Kyle Hendricks is right now. Hendricks has allowed just 2 runs in his last 25 2/3 innings of work. Gio Gonzalez on the other hand hasn’t been sharp as in his last 3 starts has an ERA of 7.54 and a WHIP of 1.74. With the added pressure of a Game 5 and the current form of Gio I have to back the Cubs starter Hendricks. I don’t want to go full game but rather make this a 5 inning play. I believe the Cubs will have the early lead here but because it’s an elimination game Dusty Baker will have a short leash on Gonzalez and if he gets in trouble he’ll pull him early. Leaving Washington a chance to claw their way back into game. So I believe we have a bigger edge thru the 1st 5 innings.
