The defensive liabilities of the current Eagles is overshadowed by their 4-1 record and the sophomore performance of Carson Wentz. But to place this game, and play, into a shoebox it is noteworthy that three of the Eagles wins this season came against the Giants, Chargers and Cardinals this season, a group that has in total won only three games and one of those was when the Bolts defeated the Giants, this past weekend. The team's other victory was a Week #1 fortunate win over a thin Washington defense.

The Eagles beatable secondary currently ranks 29th in the league, versus the three teams I just mentioned above, and of course their only loss of the season, versus the Chiefs.

Cam Newton and his offense have found their groove, mostly due to the Panthers quarterback finally having some playing time under his belt after not receiving practice time in the preseason due to a shoulder injury. Newton has thrown six touchdown passes the past two weeks -- on the road mind you - in wins at Gillette and Ford Field.

Don't think for a minute that Wentz and the Eagles coaching staff don't have a plan to limit the 100-year old Julius Peppers and his 5-plus sacks.

A game that is offensive easily soars over the total tonight in Carolina.

Note that there is a chance of light rains without wind tonight for this game giving both sidelines and their receivers an offensive edge.
