USC is 6-1 SU but only 1-6 ATS and that has many people jumping ship here wanting to back Notre Dame. Fact is that USC isn’t laying a big number in this contest as they have had to do all year. USC is the Underdog for the first time all year. The best player on the field is Sam Darnold the USC QB who I believe Notre Dame is not going to be able to stop. The Irish hasn’t faced an offense with as many weapons as USC has this year. Notre Dame relies on their running game but USC has done well defending the run since week 2. In the opening week W. Michigan ran all over USC but I think USC was looking ahead to their triple revenge game against Stanford the following week. Stanford ran the ball well against USC but still lost by 18 and it must be noted Stanford running back Byrce Love hasn’t been stopped by anyone. Notre Dame has played 2 good teams this year, Georgia and Michigan St. Georgia beat them in week 2 with a back up QB making his first start. Notre Dame beat Michigan St by 20 in one of the most misleading scores of the year. Michigan St out gained Notre Dame 496-355 but 3 TO’s by Michigan St to none for Notre Dame was the difference. In Notre Dame’s last game they won 33-10 and since Brian Kelly has been head coach at Notre Dame the Irish are only 3-11 ATS in the game after holding an opponent to 14 points or less. Finally because all of Notre Dame’s wins have come against lesser competition and they were blowouts if this game is close in the 4th Q the advantage swings big time to USC who has played several close games and knows how to win if it’s close where we don’t know how Notre Dame will do. My numbers have USC winning this 31-23.
