8-Unit Play. Take #060 Chicago -120 over Nashville (Friday, October 27th at 8:30 PM ET)
Take Chicago on the moneyline as my 8-Unit NHL Game of the Year for Friday night. This pick falls into one of my top NHL systems and the Blackhawks are the superior team here who should have routed the Predators in their first meeting but went 0-6 on the powerplay, which will not happen tonight. Chicago is the #5 offensive team in the NHL this season and they bounce back at home after likely having too much fun in Vegas. The Blackhawks have also adjusted their defensive lines and I like the move a lot coming into this game. The Predators have had a hard time finding the back of the net this season, and rank 28th in offensive production, and they are just 1-7 in their last 8 road games overall. The Preds are just 3-10 in their last 13 road games against the Blackhawks and the home team is 14-6 in the last 20 games played between these two teams. I feel we are getting a great price here because of the Blackhawks loss in Vegas, however they were definitely not ready to play that game. The Blackhawks are 69-24 in their last 93 home games when playing a team with a road win rate below .400 and they have averaged 4 goals per game at home this season. The Preds have averaged just 1.4 gpg on the road this season and the Blackhawks have allowed an average of just 2 gpg at home this season. Play Chicago ML as we move to 14-4 my last 18 NHL plays.
