The Memphis Grizzlies are the only team to defeat the Houston Rockets this season and look to duplicate the feat when the teams meet Saturday. The Grizzlies posted a 98-90 road victory in Houston on Monday and now get the Rockets on their home floor in the second contest of a four-game homestand.
Houston continued its strong start by knocking down 22 of 57 3-point attempts in a 109-93 road victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday. "Everybody's got the green light," Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni said afterward as the team fell four attempts shy of matching its own NBA record. "When we pass them up and they're open, guys get mad at each other, so we're taking them. We just think it's a good shot for us." Memphis split a home-and-home with the Dallas Mavericks earlier this week and long-time stalwarts Marc Gasol (averages of 25 points and 10.8 rebounds) and Mike Conley (19.4) are again leading the way. Gasol has scored 20 or more points in four of the first five games, the best season-opening stretch by a Memphis player since Rudy Gay had at least 20 in each of the first five contests of the 2010-11 campaign.

ABOUT THE ROCKETS (5-1): Shooting guard Eric Gordon (26 points) and starting forward Ryan Anderson (21) each knocked down six 3-pointers Friday victory and Anderson was disappointed to hear Houston hoisted only 57 3-pointers. "I was surprised hearing that because we passed up some opportunities, some looks," Anderson said afterward. "I feel like we could have gotten about 10 more up. But that's the way we play. When we play that fluid, we get those shots and it just feels natural. So 57 is not a big surprise." Point guard James Harden had four 3-pointers while producing his first triple-double of the season with 27 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.
ABOUT THE GRIZZLIES (4-1): Gasol already has four doubles-doubles and has delivered at least 25 points and 10 rebounds in the same game three times this season. "Yeah, I mean he's the centerpiece for us," Memphis coach David Fizdale told reporters. "Everything revolves around him. We're really trying to up the diversity of his offense and put him in a lot of different situations to get him looks at the basket or get other people involved around him. I love his aggression." Conley has topped 20 points three times but is averaging only 4.2 assists, a sharp drop from his 6.3 figure of last season.
BUZZER BEATERS
1. Gasol had 26 points in Monday's victory over the Rockets.
2. Houston F Trevor Ariza (foot) will miss his third straight contest since being injured Monday.
3. Memphis SG Andrew Harrison has started all five games but is averaging only 4.4 points on 28 percent shooting.
PREDICTION: Grizzlies 96, Rockets 94
