Bills at Jets 11/2/17 - NFL Picks & Predictions

    by Eddie

    Latest Odds : BUF-3.5 Total 43

The week nine NFL schedule will kick off with a Thursday night clash between the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets from Met Life Stadium. The Bills have won five of their first seven games and trail New England by a half game for the AFC East Division lead. On Sunday, Buffalo forced four turnovers and returned a fumble for a score during a 34-14 rout over visiting Oakland. LeSean McCoy rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown for the Bills on the afternoon.

Through seven games, Buffalo ranks 9th in rushing offense and is scoring 21.9 points on average. New York struggles to stop the run, ranking 28th in rush defense and allowing 23.3 points per game.

The New York Jets surprised many experts to start the season by winning three of their first three games, but enter this contest having dropped three straight. On Sunday, New York was unable to overcome visiting Atlanta and a sloppy field during a 25-20 loss. Josh McCown threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns in a losing effort for the Jets.

New York comes into this contest ranked 23rd in total offense and scoring 19.6 points on average. Buffalo counters with a defense that ranks 22nd in yards allowed, but gives up just 16.4 points per game.
    Recent Betting Trends:
Buffalo is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games on the road.
Buffalo is 6-2 SU in its last 8 games when playing NY Jets.
NY Jets is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games at home.
The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Buffalo's last 6 games on the road.
The total has gone UNDER in 5 of NY Jets's last 6 games when playing Buffalo.
Free Betting Pick: Buffalo Bills -3.5
New York CB Morris Claiborne left Sunday’s loss with a foot injury and his status for this game is uncertain. The Jets started the season with some promise and cannot afford to lose four straight games. Buffalo is looking like a team that could snap their 17 year playoff drought. Look for Buffalo to pull away late for a win and cover. Final Score Prediction, Buffalo Bills win and cover ATS 26-19.

Ball State at Eastern Michigan 11/2/17 - CFB Picks & Predictions

        by Adam

        Latest Odds : EMU -24 Total 47

Ball State and Eastern Michigan have identical records at the bottom of the Mid-American Conference West Division as they prepare to meet up for a Thursday contest.

The Cardinals (2-6, 0-4) have lost five games in a row, thanks in large part to an inability to put points on the board. Over that span of five losses, Ball State averages just 10.6 points per game. On the season, the Cardinals score just 19.1 points per game, which is tied for 118th in the FBS.

Senior quarterback Jack Milas has taken the most reps behind center for Ball State, and he has thrown six interceptions without a single touchdown pass.

One bright spot for the Cardinal offense is freshman running back Caleb Huntley, who 558 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He's gone for more than 75 rushing yards in each of the last three weeks.

The Eagles (2-6, 0-4) have lost six games in a row after beating Rutgers in their nonconference slate. During their six-game skid, they haven't been beaten by more than seven points. Last week, Eastern Michigan fell 30-27 against Northern Illinois. The Eagles gave up a touchdown in overtime after settling for a field goal.

With 278.5 passing yards per game, Eastern Michigan ranks 27th in the country. Senior quarterback Brogan Roback has thrown for 2,079 yards with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Roback has one 300-yard game on the season, but has thrown for at least 200 yards in all eight games.
        Recent Betting Trends:
Cardinals are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.
Eagles are 18-39 ATS in their last 57 home games.
Under is 6-2 in Cardinals last 8 road games.
Under is 7-2 in Eagles last 9 games on fieldturf.
Free Betting Pick: Ball State Cardinals +22
These mid week games lead to some wacky results and that almost always us lends us to taking the underdogs. No different in this MAC game as Ball State getting three plus TD's will do just enough to get us the cover. Final Score Prediction, Eastern Michigan Eagles win but fall short ATS 30-20.

Navy at Temple 11/2/17 - NCAA Football Picks & Predictions

          by Thomas

          Latest Odds : NAVY -8 Total 55

The Navy Midshipmen started their season off 5-0 but have dropped their last two games. Navy is 5-2 on the season and 3rd in the AAC West. The Midshipmen will travel to Temple to take on the Owls on Thursday. Navy is 2-1 on the road this season and has covered the spread in three of their last games this season.

Navy lost to UCF 31-21 last week and Memphis 30-27 the week before. QB Zach Abey threw for his season high last week for 115 yards. Navy doesn't not throw the ball that much and has perfected the triple option. QB Abey also had one rushing touchdown last week and 126 rushing yards.

The Temple Owls have also lost two straight games. Temple is 3-5 on the season and 4th in the AAC West. The Owls are 2-2 on their home field this season and have covered the spread in three of their games this season. Temple is just 1-3 in Conference action this season.

The Temple Owls lost to Army last week and UConn the week before. Temple was led by QB Frank Nutile last week who threw for 290 yards and one touchdown. The Owls RB Armstead had a breakout game and had two touchdowns and 151 rushing yards.
          Recent Betting Trends:
Midshipmen are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games on grass.
Owls are 8-2 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
Under is 15-5 in Midshipmen last 20 games following a straight up loss.
Under is 13-3 in Owls last 16 conference games.
Free Betting Pick: Navy Midshipmen -8
Lay it and play it with Navy on Thursday night. Navy has lost two straight but Temple will have no answer for their run game. The road team is a perfect 4-0 against the spread in the last four meeting and don't see that changing this week. Final Score Prediction, Navy Midshipmen win and cover ATS 24-13.

Idaho at Troy 11/2/17 - College Football Picks & Predictions

            by Thomas

            Latest Odds : TROY -18 Total 52

Troy is 6-2, and at 3-1 in the Sun Belt Conference, just one game behind the league leaders. The Trojans have had their moments this year, like beating then No. 25 LSU. The Trojans host Idaho, 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the Sun Belt this weekend. Troy might be a favorite, but they have also had down moments, like losing to South Alabama, another 3-5 team, a week after beating LSU. Idaho has not had many wins, but they did beat South Alabama.

Troy live on its defense, 11th in the nation at 17.3 points given up per game. The Trojans are averaging 25 points per game. Troy is averaging 250 yards passing and 162 rushing. Brandon Silvers has passed for 1941 yards, but has just five touchdowns and four interceptions. Jordan Chunn has 518 yards rushing and six touchdowns. Jamarius Henderson has 299 yards rushing and four touchdowns, and he is averaging 8 yards per carry. Three receivers have about 300 yards each.

The Vandals of Idaho are averaging 229 yards passing and 139 yards rushing. The Vandals are averaging 23.6 points per game and are giving up 30.6. Matt Lineham has 1774 yards passing, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions. Aaron Duckworth has 739 yards rushing and three touchdowns. He is averaging 5.7 yards per carry but the team is averaging 3.7. Alfonso Onunwor has 524 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
            Recent Betting Trends:
Vandals are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
Trojans are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games.
Over is 10-4 in Vandals last 14 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
Over is 19-9 in Trojans last 28 games in November.
Free Betting Pick: Idaho Vandals +18
These teams are 2-2 against each other over the last four seasons, and in each game the visitor won. Think this is closer game than the spread indicates and we are going to take Idaho with this many points. Troy also have gone just 2-6 ATS on the year. Final Score Prediction, Troy Trojans win but fall short ATS 26-17.

Rangers at Lightning 11/2/17 - NHL Picks & Predictions

              by Jim

              Latest Odds : TB -170 Total 6

The Rangers offense has managed to find some type of a stride as the Rangers beat the Vegas Golden Knights in the last outing. However, the Rangers defense needs to step up as the game was controlled quite a bit by the Golden Knights and that could prove to be disaster for the Rangers in the game here facing a prolific offense like the Lightning have on the season. In fact, the Lightning are coming into this game after putting in 8 goals against the Panthers whose defense was severely lacking in the last game as well by giving up 5 goals.

The Rangers on the year have been able to get around 2.8 goals a game, but the defense for the Rangers is the issue as it has been giving up a total of 3.5 goals a game and that is near the bottom of the league so far this season.

With the Lightning the offense has been stunning as the Lightning lead the league in the scoring with 4.1 goals a game on the season so far. However, the Lightning have had some struggles with defense that is giving up 2.7 goals a game.

              Recent Betting Trends:
Rangers are 4-11 in their last 15 overall.
Lightning are 4-1 in their last 5 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game.
Over is 4-1 in Rangers last 5 road games.
Over is 5-0 in Lightning last 5 games playing on 2 days rest.
Free Betting Pick: Tampa Bay Lightning -170
With an offense like the Lightning it will be hard for the Rangers to stop the Lightning. The Lightning will light up the scoreboard here with the leagues best offense being able to completely control the Rangers defense. Lightning win this game 5-2.

Blue Jackets at Panthers 11/2/17 - NHL Picks & Predictions

                by Mike

                Latest Odds : CLB -120 Total 5.5

The Blue Jackets were in a fight on Monday against the Bruins, but even with Bobrovsky giving up a couple of goals that would eventually force overtime in the game, the Blue Jackets came out on top. So this is definitely going to be something the Blue Jackets will have to rely on when they are looking to come out on top.

Offensively the Blue Jackets have seen Sonny Milano be the leader when it comes to getting the puck in the back of the net. Milano on the season has been able to score a total of 5 goals on the year for the Blue Jackets.

The Panthers on the other hand will be looking to have a defense that can contain an offense. Thankfully for the Panthers the Blue Jackets offense is not nearly as good as the Lightning who were able to put up 8 goals against them. The downside is the defense for the Blue Jackets is quite a bit better than the Lightning and that can make it difficult for the Panthers to get to score.

Aleksander Barkov is the player who has managed to lead the Panthers in the assist category. Barkov has managed to find his teammates 10 times for goals and that has helped him and the Panthers out quite a bit in getting confidence.

                Recent Betting Trends:
Blue Jackets are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. Atlantic.
Panthers are 7-19 in their last 26 vs. Eastern Conference.
Over is 2-0-2 in Blue Jackets last 4 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game.
Over is 9-2 in Panthers last 11 overall.
Free Betting Pick: Columbus Blue Jackets -120
The Blue Jackets are going to have a good offensive showing in this game again. However, the Panthers offense will fall well short as the Blue Jackets defense is quite a bit better than the Lightning. Blue Jackets bring this game home 3-2.

Flyers at Blues 11/2/17 - NHL Picks & Predictions

                  by Mike

                  Latest Odds : STL -175 Total 5.5

The Flyers are going to have something to prove here and show the loss in overtime to the hopeless Coyotes was not a fluke. The Flyers will definitely be handing the puck over to the offense in this game and with how prolific the offense for the Flyers has been on the season so far it is very easy to see why the Flyers are going to rely on it, instead of anyone else.

The Flyers are coming into this game scoring a total of 3.4 goals a game. However, the defense for the Flyers has only contained the opponents to 2.9 goals a game on the season so far.

With the Blues the team has been one of the surprises on the season so far and that shows for how well the Blues are doing. The Blues would like to be able to do quite a bit better, but they could find the struggles of facing so many good teams in a row can really hurt the team and the chances the Blues have of doing really well on the season again.

On the season the offense for the Blues has been scoring at a clip of 3.3 goals a game, but what the true strength of the Blues is comes from the defensive side of the puck. The Blues are ranked second and only giving up 2.3 goals a game.

                  Recent Betting Trends:
Flyers are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. a team with a winning record.
Blues are 7-0 in their last 7 home games.
Under is 4-1-1 in Flyers last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.
Under is 4-0 in Blues last 4 vs. Metropolitan.
Free Betting Pick: Saint Louis Blues -175
The Flyers will put up a great fight in this game and that is what will make the game amazing here. However, the Flyers will be tired from playing the Blackhawks on Wednesday. Look for the Blues to bring home the win here 3-1.

Canadiens at Wild 11/2/17 - NHL Picks & Predictions

                    by Adam

                    Latest Odds : MIN -145 Total 5.5

With the Canadiens they are a shell of what they have been in the past couple of seasons. The Canadiens for a while were the team in Canada to beat, but now without the offensive efforts the Canadiens have come to expect it looks like they are the team to be beaten and done so on a regular basis.

Carey Price is the goalie the Canadiens have come to rely on quite a bit this year and he has had some struggles. In fact, Price has a goals against average that is sitting at the 3.64 mark on the season for his own rating and that is not the best ranking for a starting NHL goalie.

The Wild have reached the point of winning some games and losing some and being happy at the five hundred mark on the year so far. However, this has left a lot of the fans in Minnesota scratching their heads about which one of the teams is going to show up on the ice on any given night. What is even worse is the team is having some questions about Dubnyk.

Devan Dubnyk was the starting goalie last season and this, but last year he was stonewalling teams and had some offense that showed up and really helped the Wild in getting the wins the team needed to have. The Wild this year have seen Dubnyk get a total of 3.03 goals a against.

                    Recent Betting Trends:
Canadiens are 8-1 in their last 9 games playing on 2 days rest.
Wild are 3-12 in their last 15 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game.
Under is 11-5-4 in Canadiens last 20 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game.
Over is 5-0 in Wild last 5 Thursday games.
Free Betting Pick: Minnesota Wild -145
The Wild are on home ice and are coming off of a close 2-1 loss, after picking up a 2-1 win. With this the Wild are going to look to bounce back from the loss. Throw in the fact the Canadiens have trouble protecting the net and it is easy to see the Wild win this game 3-2.

Stars at Jets 11/2/17 - NHL Picks & Predictions

                      by Jim

                      Latest Odds : WIN -115 Total 6

Dallas is a team that is very hard to predict because it seems to be they are living a tail of two different teams. The problem is one of those teams is playing hockey at such a high level they can be counted on to win any of the games they take the ice on. The other side makes it look like a kids hockey team would be able to beat them. So the Stars definitely need to work on some type of consistent effort on the ice and hope it hits the good side.

Jamie Benn is the leading scorer for the Stars on the year. Benn has been able to get a total of 14 points. Benn has split those points evenly between assist and goals.

Winnipeg has really seen a resurgence in hockey here recently and it has definitely been for the better for the Jets. The jets have won 2 in a row coming into play on Thursday. However, what is really nice is one of those wins was a blowout victory over the Penguins in a game that seen the Jets put in a total of 7 goals in the game and only gave up a single goal.

The Jets for their part have been led by Blake Wheeler on the point scoring. Wheeler on the season has managed to get a total of 12 points with 4 of those coming from goals and 8 from assist on the year.

                      Recent Betting Trends:
Stars are 14-32 in their last 46 road games.
Jets are 13-5 in their last 18 overall.
Under is 6-2 in Stars last 8 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game.
Over is 4-1 in Jets last 5 home games.
Free Betting Pick: Winnipeg Jets -115
The Jets have strung together quite an impressive resume here recently of the wins. This is only going to build confidence for the younger Jets squad and facing an older Stars squad could prove disastrous for Dallas. Jets are going to win this game 2-1.

Hurricanes at Avalanche 11/2/17 - NHL Picks & Predictions

                        by Mike

                        Latest Odds : CAR -120 Total 5.5

The Hurricanes and the Avalanche have both shocked quite a few teams with how well they have played on the season so far. However, one aspect that has not really changed is these two teams have a long season to go and if history holds true the Avalanche and the Hurricanes both will start to fade over time and this will lead to the fans in one of these cities being very disappointed because of how the team ends up playing in the game towards the end of the season.

The Hurricanes on the year are converting on the power play at 17.1% compared to 16.7% from the Avalanche.

The Hurricanes are killing off 80% of the power plays faced and the Avalanche are slightly better killing off 80.4%.

The goal scoring for the Hurricanes has come to 2.7 goals a game, but the defense is giving up 2.9 goals a game. For the Avalanche the offense is scoring 3.1 goals a game and allowing 3.1 goals a game.

                        Recent Betting Trends:
Hurricanes are 16-35 in their last 51 games playing on 3 or more days rest.
Avalanche are 4-1 in their last 5 home games.
Under is 4-1-1 in Hurricanes last 6 Thursday games.
Under is 7-2-1 in Avalanche last 10 vs. a team with a losing record.
Free Betting Pick: Colorado Avalanche +110
The Avalanche are a better team for scoring and killing off the power play when compared to the Hurricanes. The lack of offensive production for the Hurricanes has cost them some close games. With that being the case, the Avalanche will rely on the better penalty kill and the higher scoring offense per game to win this game 3-2.

Penguins at Flames 11/2/17 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Penguins have to be reeling after the last loss they had heading into play on Wednesday as it was a very embarrassing loss to the Jets. However, the Penguins definitely had time to work on the kinks to figure out what went wrong for them and that could spell disaster for the Flames. The good point is the Flames have managed to pick up a great defense here and that has all come down to the fact the Flames have managed to get a great goalie in Mike Smith.

The Penguins do have Matt Murray still, but he has allowed 3.05 goals a game on average. This has really led to the Penguins fans starting to question if the proper goalie was protected in the expansion draft or not.

For the Flames they have went out and picked up a great goalie in Mike Smith. While Smith is older, he has been playing some great hockey for the Flames and has definitely provided a lot of the leadership the Flames needed to have when they were coming into this game here.

                          Recent Betting Trends:
Penguins are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. Pacific.
Flames are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference.
Over is 3-1-1 in Penguins last 5 Thursday games.
Under is 3-0-1 in Flames last 4 home games.
Free Betting Pick: Calgary Flames +120
The Flames are going to have a great offensive showing against a Penguins team that should have protected Fleury, instead of Murry. However, the Flames will not have a good defensive outing as Smith has struggled against Crosby in the past. Flames win this game in a high scoring affair 6-4.

Maple Leafs at Kings 11/2/17 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Toronto Maple Leafs are drawing a road start in a late-week match up against the home town Los Angeles Kings. Los Angeles will be hosting this game at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. The Kings have started the season red hot, as many people had expected, and that means a win could be in the cards for this game. Toronto has been competitive but the Maple Leafs have been losing too many close games.

Toronto will be taking the ice with one of the best offenses in the entire NHL. Toronto is scoring 4 goals per game this year which puts them 2nd in the league. Unfortunately, Toronto has been a leaky team on the defensive end of the ice as the Maple Leafs are giving up 4 goals per game right back to opposing teams. Austin Matthews (9 goals, 5 assists) has been an early season dynamo and he'll be our skater to highlight in this contest.

The Los Angeles Kings are the best defensive team in the NHL this season despite a hiccup against St Louis in their last outing. Los Angeles is giving up just 2 goals to opposing teams per game while avearging 3 goals on offense of their own. The Kings are one of the toughest teams in the NHL right now and they look like an early season favorite to run away in the Pacific Division.

                            Recent Betting Trends:
Maple Leafs are 32-73 in their last 105 vs. a team with a winning record.
Kings are 7-1 in their last 8 vs. Atlantic.
Under is 8-3-1 in Maple Leafs last 12 Thursday games.
Under is 4-0 in Kings last 4 vs. Atlantic.
Free Betting Pick: Los Angeles Kings -120
The Kings defense has been among some of the best in the NHL this year. Not to mention the Kings offense is not that shabby either right now. With this in mind it is very easy to see why we like Los Angeles to defeat Toronto, 3 - 2.

Sabres at Coyotes 11/2/17 - NHL Picks & Predictions

                              by Mike

                              Latest Odds : ARI -105 Total 6

The Buffalo Sabres (3 - 7 - 2, 8pts) are on the road to take on the flailing Arizona Coyotes (1 -11 - 1, 3pts) in what will be a contest featuring two of the worst teams in the NHL. Arizona will be hosting this game at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, AZ. Buffalo is coming off of a close loss to the San Jose Sharks this past weekend while Arizona was just beaten down by the Detroit Red Wings.

The Arizona Coyotes have been a special brand of awful this year as the team has struggled on both ends of the ice. Arizona is the worst defensive team in the league, bar none, as they are giving up a 67% penalty kill percentage and over four goals per game to opposing teams. Young Clayton Keller (9 goals, 6 assists) has been a lone bright spot in what has been an otherwise headache of a season for the Coyotes.

The Buffalo Sabres are on the ice with many of the same issues that plague Arizona. To start with, Buffalo is only scoring 2 goals per contest while giving up 4 right back to opposing teams. Buffalo doesn't have a surging star to lean on either, outside of the strong play of Jason Pominville (6 goals, 6 assists). Buffalo is dead last in the Atlantic Division right now and fixing to stay there for awhile.

                              Recent Betting Trends:
Sabres are 14-52 in their last 66 Thursday games.
Coyotes are 18-43 in their last 61 Thursday games.
Over is 17-8-3 in Sabres last 28 vs. Western Conference.
Over is 6-0-1 in Coyotes last 7 games playing on 1 days rest.
Free Betting Pick: Buffalo Sabres -105
The Coyotes cannot kill off penalties. That has been an issue for the Coyotes all season and with the penalties mounting for the Coyotes it will prove to be one of the many downfalls. We like Buffalo to beat Arizona here, 2 - 1.
