I just have to believe that Oregon State is going to be a vastly improved team this year. They were comically bad last season after making the NCAA Tournament in 2015-16. Tres Trinkle is 100 percent healthy and he is an all-Pac-12 talent in the post. I don't think that Wyoming has anyone that can handle him. Oregon State had a clear purpose in their opener: get to the basket. They were not chucking threes but were instead powering the ball into the paint. I love that approach. It's aggressive and when done properly, especially on their home court and with the refs on their side, it should be especially effective. Wyoming looked beyond lackluster against a feeble Chattanooga team. And the Cowboys haven't been known for exactly being great on the road. They only won two Mountain West road games last season, and those came against weak sisters Air Force and San Jose State. All-told the Cowboys only won four games outside of their own gym last season. I think that they have actually taken a step back, talent-wise, and I think that they are running into a focused and motivated Oregon State team that is determined to put last year behind them.
