This game features the 10-9-2 Rangers at the 9-6-4 Hurricanes. Rangers really have not been able to get it together this season and that will not start tonight. Carolina is a very good young team and has the better goaltender in Scott Darling 6-4-4 2.46 GAA. We are backing Carolina tonight for a 15* winner.

                      Preview: Wizards at Hornets

                      Gracenote
                      Nov 21, 2017

John Wall returned, Bradley Beal set a record and the Washington Wizards now have a chance for a winning road trip when they visit the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. After missing a trip-opening loss at Toronto due to a sore knee, Wall had 15 points and six assists in Monday's 99-88 win at Milwaukee, while Beal buried a pair of 3-pointers to become the fastest player in NBA history to 700.

Washington, playing the second half of a back-to-back for the first time this season, turned up the defensive pressure to snap a two-game slide. "Defensively, we locked into the game plan," coach Scott Brooks told the media. "We were aggressive, we were physical. We played with an IQ. We made them take the shots that we wanted them to take." The Wizards will try to maintain that approach against a Hornets squad that averaged 113.3 points over its last three games, including two straight wins to begin a three-game homestand. Charlotte will aim for a perfect stay at the Spectrum Centre behind veteran center Dwight Howard, who is averaging 20.5 points and 18 boards on the homestand.

TV: 7 p.m. ET, NBCS Washington Plus, FS Southeast (Charlotte)

ABOUT THE WIZARDS (10-7): Otto Porter Jr. also came into the Milwaukee game a bit banged up with a sore wrist, but he was still able to produce a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds) to go along with four assists and three steals. Marcin Gortat recorded his third consecutive double-double with 10 points and 15 boards, and Wall had no issues in a 31-minute effort. "I was great. I was cool," Wall told reporters, according to the Washington Post. "I missed some easy, early shots but I was fine."

ABOUT THE HORNETS (7-9): Howard is 15-for-20 from the floor on the homestand and had a rare positive effort from the line (9-for-14) in the Monday's 118-102 victory over Minnesota. "I guess it works," Howard told reporters of his effort to think about other things when on the line. "I just stay away from my own brain." Frank Kaminsky made 1-of-8 3-pointers over his previous three games before hitting 4-of-5 against the Timberwolves en route to a season-high 24 points.

                      BUZZER BEATERS

                      1. Hornets PG Kemba Walker is averaging 23.9 points while making 50 percent of his 3-pointers in eight home games.

                      2. Wizards F Kelly Oubre Jr. hit 5-of-8 from long range while averaging 14 points in 19.5 minutes over the last two contests.

                      3. Wall averaged 22.8 points and 9.5 assists as Washington won three of four meetings last season.

                      PREDICTION: Hornets 108, Wizards 105

                          Preview: Nets at Cavaliers

                          Gracenote
                          Nov 21, 2017

Whatever was wrong with the Cleveland Cavaliers two weeks ago doesn't seem to be plaguing the team anymore. The Cavaliers will try to run their winning streak to six in a row and go into Thanksgiving on a hot streak when they host Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

Cleveland put together its best overall performance of the season on Monday with a 116-88 win at Detroit in which it scored 73 points in the first half and led by 39 entering the fourth, allowing star LeBron James to get some rest in the fourth quarter. "We haven't had a win like this in a very long time," James told reporters. "Come out sometimes in the third quarter and we get slow starts and teams get back into it. But (Monday) we just kept it going. It's a pretty big step for us." The Cavaliers were in a much different place on Oct. 25, when they went into Brooklyn and suffered a 112-107 loss. The Nets improved to 3-2 on the season with that win but have since dropped eight of 11 and are without point guard D'Angelo Russell indefinitely after he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
TV: 7 p.m. ET, YES (Brooklyn), FSN Ohio (Cleveland)

ABOUT THE NETS (6-10): Even without Russell in the lineup, Brooklyn did not back down from the defending champs on Sunday and nearly overcame a 28-point deficit before falling to the Warriors 118-111. "I was very happy to see our core fundamentals, our core values come back in that second half," Nets coach Kenny Atkinson told reporters after the loss. "We competed, we played together. We had 16 assists in the second half. Those are the things we want to be about. It makes you feel better going into the next game and going forward." Allen Crabbe is taking on a bigger role with Russell out and matched a season high with 25 points on Sunday to run his season-best string to three straight games scoring in double figures.
ABOUT THE CAVALIERS (10-7): The 88 points allowed on Monday marked a season low and snapped a streak of 14 straight games allowing at least 100 points for Cleveland, which is happy with the progress it is making. "Over the last six or seven games we've started to come together offensively and defensively," Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue told reporters. "Moving the basketball, making the extra pass. That's what we're capable of doing when we play the right way." James, who logged 46 minutes in an overtime triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, was needed for a season-low 27 minutes on Monday and still managed 18 points and eight assists.

                          BUZZER BEATERS

                          1. Cavaliers PF Kevin Love is averaging 20.2 points on 52.7 percent shooting over the last five games.

                          2. Nets PF Trevor Booker (left ankle sprain) left Sunday's game and is day-to-day.

                          3. Brooklyn snapped a four-game skid in the series with the Oct. 25 triumph.

                          PREDICTION: Cavaliers 115, Nets 102

                              Preview: Trail Blazers at 76ers

                              Nov 21, 2017

The Philadelphia 76ers did well to shake off the pain of a difficult loss to open their homestand and they will try to stay hot when they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. The youthful 76ers suffered a second-half collapse against the Golden State to begin their stay in Philadelphia before pulling away for a 21-point win over Utah two days later.

"The rhythm of the game wasn't sort of the identity that we are trying to play with offensively," coach Brett Brown told reporters after his team committed 20 turnovers in the win over the Jazz. "It ended up being more of a fistfight from the defensive standpoint and the rebounding standpoint." The Trail Blazers have been surviving in that same way of late, going 4-1 during a stretch in which they have held opponents to an average of 88.8 points. "Defensively we were able to get some stops down the stretch," guard CJ McCollum said after a 24-point effort in a 100-92 win at Memphis on Monday. "Noah (Vonleh) had some big baskets. Big rebounds. Different guys stepped up. Everybody did a little bit of everything." Portland entered Tuesday's action ranked second in the NBA in scoring defense (97.2), while Philadelphia was 26th (108.9).

TV: 7 p.m. ET, NBCSN Northwest (Portland), NBCSN Philadelphia

ABOUT THE TRAIL BLAZERS (10-7): Vonleh had season highs with 11 points, 18 rebounds and three blocked shots in the win over the Grizzlies as he continues to play a bigger role along the front line. "The other team was just missing a lot of shots, and I was just having a nose for the ball," Vonleh told the media. "Boxing my guy out and going after it, that was my mindset." Monday began the first of two five-game road trips in less than a month for Portland.

ABOUT THE 76ERS (9-7): Big man Joel Embiid was questionable for the game against Utah due to knee pain, but he powered through for 15 points and 11 rebounds and provided a highlight by inducing a technical foul from Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell after swatting Mitchell's shot. "The whole game I thought I was kind of flat," Embiid said of the incident. "I was kind of going through the motions. I needed that, getting the crowd going." Rookie Ben Simmons didn't need much motivation all night as he went for 27 points and 10 boards, his fourth straight double-double.

                              BUZZER BEATERS

                              1. Portland SG Evan Turner is 3-for-22 from the floor over a four-game stretch.

                              2. Sixers SG JJ Redick scored 20 points in each of his last two games while making 4-of-6 3-pointers.

                              3. Blazers G Damian Lillard averaged 27 points as the teams split two meetings last season.

                              PREDICTION: 76ers 105, Trail Blazers 99
