The Owls are worth a look in Thursday's neutral court matchup with South Carolina at Madison Square Garden. Temple comes in off a road loss to LaSalle, where they blew a lead in the 2nd half. That's going to happen and the Explorers are a better team than they get credit for. I think it will have the Owls 100% locked in for tonight's game against a Gamecocks team that I think it is getting a little too much respect early on. South Carolina was the talk of the NCAA Tournament a year ago when they made the Final 4, but a lot was lost from that team, including 3 starters and by far their best player in Sndarius Thornwell. The Gamecocks have managed to start out 5-1, but a cupcake schedule has played a big part in that. The lone loss was to Illinois State, who is no where close to as talented as Temple, who has 3 guys averaging 15+ ppg. Give me the Owls +2!

The Denver Nuggets can’t be double-digit favorites against anyone right now given their healthy situation. They are without one of their best players in Paul Millsap, who they signed to a huge contract in the offseason. They are also without the underrated Wilson Chandler tonight, and Mason Plumlee is questionable with a stinger. The Nuggets are coming off a 77-106 loss in Utah on Tuesday. Certainly the Bulls aren’t a good team, but they have been competitive in their last two games losing by 7 and 5 points. They have only lost two of their last seven games by double-digits. I think they can stay within single-digits of the depleted Nuggets here tonight. Give me the Bulls.

NBA | Bucks vs Blazers

The Bucks hammered the Kings 112-87 on the road on Tuesday. It was just their second win in their last five games.
Portland won its third straight with a convincing 103-91 victory against the Knicks on the road on Monday. Note that this is a big time revenge game for the Blazers as well tonight, as they’ve lost three straight in this series, including the first one this year, a 113-110 road loss back on October 21st.
This is the end of a four game Western swing for the Bucks and I’m expecting a letdown. So far Milwaukee averages 102.9 PPG and concdes 104.6. Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the nightly charge with 29.7 points, 10.2 boards, 4.4 assists and 1.67 steals per game.
The Blazers average just 103.2 PPG, but make up for it on the defensive side by conceding just 98.8 (ranked fourth.) Damian Lillard once again leads the team with 25.7 points and 6.1 assists per game.
I’ll point out that Milwaukee is just 1-4 ATS in its last five road games against a team with a winning home record, while Portland is 9-1-2 ATS in its last 12 following a straight up victory of more than ten points.
I’m not reading too much into Milwaukee’s latest victory. The Kings are horrible, but Sacramento had just won in Golden State the night previous.
I think the Blazers offer good value in this spot.

The Missouri Tigers might be the single most improved team in the country this season after last year’s 8-24 disaster. The Cuonzo Martin hiring has led to one of the top recruiting classes in the country, and it has paid early dividends in 2017.
The Tigers are off to a 5-2 start against an absolutely brutal schedule. They have beaten the likes of Iowa State and St. John’s. Their only two losses came to Utah in a true road game and a narrow 79-83 loss to West Virginia on a neutral court. They are battle-tested, and this is actually a big step down in class against UCF Thursday.
The UCF Knights are off to a 4-2 start this season. They only beat Mercer by 9 at home and Gardner Webb by 3 at home to open the season, signs that this team wasn’t going to be very good. And they lost to that same West Virginia team 45-83 on a neutral court to give these teams a common opponent, and to clearly show that Missouri is the better team in this matchup. They also lost to St. John’s 43-46, the same team that Missouri beat 90-82 for another common opponent.
The Tigers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall and are being undervalued once again here tonight. The Knights are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game. The Tigers will roll tonight. Bet Missouri Thursday.

The lone loss came in their true road game at La Salle by a final of 83-87. There have been zero cupcake opponents on their schedule thus far, which should help them here against South Carolina. The Gamecocks lost a ton from last year’s team that made a deep run into the NCAA Tournament. They have just 2 starters back. They have faced a soft schedule and are 5-1 this season, but they have a really bad 65-69 loss to Illinois State on a neutral court. Temple is the best team that they will have faced yet. The Bulldogs should have no problem here winning by double-digits at home against North Dakota State. Mississippi State has played a soft schedule during their 5-0 start, but this is a talented team that should finish in the top half of the SEC and has a good shot at making the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs are led by junior Quinndary Weatherspoon and his younger brother, freshman Nick Weatherspoon. They are also getting big contributions from junior big man Aric Holman and sophomore Tyson Carter.
The Bison just aren't on the same level here. North Dakota State is just 3-3 to start the season and have losses to the likes of UC-Santa Barbara and SF Austin State. They are just 1-3 away from home with the only win coming by 3-points over Missouri State. They simply aren't a great offensive team, as they are scoring just 59.5 ppg and shooting under 40% from the field on the road. The Bulldogs are only giving up 63 ppg and holding opponents to just 36% from the field. This has blowout written all over it. Take Mississippi State!

These two have won just one game combined but we feel there is definite value with NAU despite their 0-6 record. Northern Arizona has played the 15th most difficult schedule in the nation this season already having faced the likes of Arizona, Arizona State, and Kansas State. If you take out those 3 this team has been very competitive in their other contests and they are coming off a 6 point loss to UC Irvine who is a higher rated team than Santa Clara, NAU’s opponent tonight. The Lumberjacks led that game at half and it was tight throughout the 2nd half. They have had a full 7 days to rest up and get ready for tonight having played that game vs UC Irvine last Friday. Santa Clara comes into this game with a 1-5 record but we can’t even really factor in their win as it came against La Verne who is a Division 3 program who currently sits with a record of 0-7. Beyond that, Santa Clara has played just one top 100 team, Nevada, which resulted in a 30 point loss. Their other games all came against teams rated 154 or lower and they lost all of them. That includes a loss to Alaska Anchorage who is a non-rated team. Unlike the tough slate that NAU has played, the Broncos schedule strength thus far is rated 218th. Despite that, they have shot just 38% from the field and allowed 50%. SC plays a very slow paced game (333rd nationally in pace) and they simply don’t score enough points to be favored by this number. They have topped 63 points only once this season (minus their game vs La Verne) and that was in OT. NAU is far from a good team but their opponent tonight is in the same boat. We don’t need to win this one, just stay within the 13 point spread. Take Northern Arizona.
