5-unit Play. #200118. Competition: English Premier League. Take Everton -1/2(-135) over Swansea City. (Monday @ 3:00 pm est) (For this match to Win, Everton must Win by 1 or more goals, Regulation + Injury time).
Everton have been on a bit of a resurgence under new manager Sam Allardyce running out to a five-match unbeaten run with four wins and one draw Everton won at Newcastle mid-week 1-0 after drawing 1-1 at Liverpool. Over this five-match run, Everton have kept four clean sheets and only allowed 1 goal while scoring 11 goals This run has Everton in 10th place on 22 points, level on points with ninth place Watford and one point clear of Huddersfield Town. A win on Monday will have Everton within one point of eighth place Leicester City. At home, Everton have won both matches under Sam Allardyce keeping two clean sheets and scoring 6 goals. This is in great contrast to the last two home loses and one win pre Big Sam, losing 5-2 against Arsenal and 5-1 in the Europa League to Atalanta, then the 3-2 win over Watford. For the visitors, Swansea City sit in last place in the League on 12 points, two points behind West Brom. Swansea are 1-3-1 in their last five matches, losing 4-0 to Manchester City mid-week. Over Swansea's last five-matches they have only scored 2 goals while conceding 7 goals. Away from home, Swansea have lost their last five-matches in a row after riding a nine-match unbeaten run away from home. Over this five-match losing streak, Swansea have conceded 8 goals and scored only 2 goals, losing their last match 2-1 at Stoke City. This will be the 19th match between these two sides, with Swansea winning two of the last three matches. Swansea won the last match at home 1-0 in May and winning at Everton 2-1 in January 2016. Everton do hold a 9-3-6 record over Swansea.
3-unit Play. #200606. Competition: English League Cup. Take Arsenal -1(-125) over West Ham. (Tuesday @ 2:45 pm est) (For this match to Win, Arsenal must Win by 2 or more goals, Regulation + Injury time).
The Quarter-Finals of the English League Cup kick off on Tuesday with two of the four matches. Arsenal's greatest chance at Silverware this season is this competition, with the Gunners currently sitting in fifth place on 33 point, 19 points behind League leaders Manchester City. Arsenal are also one point behind fourth place Liverpool who cruised past Bournemouth on Sunday and with only a one point lead on sixth place Burnley. Arsenal has rebounded since their 3-1 home loss to Manchester United with a 6-0 home win against BATE in the Europa League, followed by two draws and a 1-0 home win against struggling Newcastle. This will be Arsenal's second of three straight home matches followed by a Friday clash with fourth place Liverpool. At home Arsenal have won four of their last five matches, keeping four clean sheets and only losing to second place Manchester United. Arsenal host a resurgent West Ham United who enter this match on a three-match unbeaten run moving up to 15th place on 17 points, level on points with 14th place Crystal Palace and one point clear of 16th place Bournemouth. West Ham started this three-match run with a 1-0 home victory over third place Chelsea and capped off this run with a 3-0 away victory at 17th place Stoke City. Away from home, West Ham's 3-0 win over the weekend at Stoke City snapped a four-match winless run and a three-match losing streak. This match and this competition, much like Arsenal, really are West Ham's only chance at glory this season. But a streaky Arsenal who have not loss to West Ham since a 2-0 loss in August 2015, should control this match from the start. Arsenal won the last home match 3-0 in April.
4 Unit Play. #748 Take Montana State -6 over Denver (9 pm) The Pioneers are 0-4 on the road this year including back to back road losses to Northern Colorado and Stanford by a combined 33 points. This is their third straight road game and I see them losing this game by double digits as well. The Bobcats are coming off a terrible performance last time out against Santa Barbara and they will be eager to get back on the court and get that out of their system. Denver is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against teams with a winning record.
7-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 216.5 Utah at Houston (Monday, December 18th at 8:00 p.m.)
These two teams have played twice already this season. The game in Houston was a very high scoring game as Houston won 137-110. The game in Utah wasn't as high scoring as Houston won 112-101. Tonight, the game is in Houston and I look for a high scoring game once again. The Rockets' offense is as good as any in the league and they have the best offensive player in the league, James Harden. On top of that, this year they have someone (Chris Paul) to keep the offense going when Harden needs a break. Having Paul has been a huge lift for the Rockets. The rotation being used is very consistent and the points are being scored on a nightly basis. They average 115.7 points per game and I see them getting there again tonight.
Gobert is out for the Jazz and that means they will look to Mitchell to push the pace. Mitchell really emerged during Gobert's extended absence earlier in the season and I look for he and the Jazz to use a much more up-tempo style with Rudy on the shelf.
This is a perfect spot for a very fast paced game and I look for this game to sail way over the total. My analytics had this total at 227.5. I love the value of this play.
Take Over
Best of luck -- Mike
