I think this is a great situation for the home team. The spread on this game has moved from 1.0 to 2.5 so that tells me where the sharp money is going. Southern Mississippi is trying to rebuild their program slowly. They are improving. The Eagles are a perfect 5-0 at home this year and the home team has gone 18-4 ATS in the last 22 meetings between these two teams. Southern Miss is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games overall and the home team has won 11 straight in this series. I see all those trends for the home team continuing. UTEP saw its coach quit last month and now they are without their best player, Keith Frazier, who left the team. This team is not good enough to overcome those losses. UTEP has played nine straight home games and Southern Miss has played four straight on the road. I think that Southern Miss is going to get a big bump by playing at home and I think that UTEP is going to struggle in its first road conference game. Play the Eagles in this one.
