BJS THUNDERSTRUCK - Has performed quite well lately in short races, posting a nifty 63 avg Equibase Speed Figure. Has formidable speed figures and has to be considered for a wager in this competition. IMA QUICK DOC - Had one of the most respectable Equibase Speed Figures of this group in his last contest.

THELOVEOFMUNNINGS - Quite frequently, I play a maiden that finished 2nd easily ahead of the third place finisher in her last outing. I am keen on that recent effort on Dec 30th at Mahoning Valley Race Cour where she finished second. The most recent speed rating of 56 is the best last race speed rating in the field. FLY AWAY FLO - This filly is rounding her way back into shape. Should perform well today. It looks like the race should set up for a closer. This filly's running style fits the bill nicely. Last race at Mahoning Valley Race Cour on December 30th was a big class drop for this horse. Facing similar foes in this event. She should do well this time around.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 THE LADY FACTOR (ML=8/5), #2 EVEN ON THE RUN (ML=5/2), #6 JERU (ML=5/1),

THE LADY FACTOR - I usually try to beat these types of morning-line favorites off the long layoff. August 28th is the last time we've seen this filly around. Have to be a little bit leery. When looking at today's Equibase class figure, she will have to register a better speed figure than last out to battle in this dirt sprint. EVEN ON THE RUN - On a downward moving sequence. Speed ratings keep dropping. JERU - Difficult to bet on any horse in a short distance race at 5/1 when she hasn't shown any successful endeavors in sprints in the last 60 days. The result of sixth in the last race shows me that this equine may be tailing off. Don't believe this entrant will make an impact in today's race. That last speed figure was disappointing when compared with today's class rating.

Those types usually run well next time out. The 65 latest race figure looks good on paper.
