The Baylor Bears were sitting in last place in the Big 12 at the end of January. But they dug deep and have since won three straight in impressive fashion to get back into the NCAA Tournament discussion. I like the way this team is trending right now.
Not only are they winning, the Bears are dominating. It started with an 81-67 home win over Iowa State. They followed that up with a 67-56 win at Oklahoma State, and then crushed Kansas 80-64 at home over the weekend. And they also only lost by two in overtime to Oklahoma on the road 96-98 prior to this winning streak, going 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.
Texas has gone the other direction. The Longhorns are 1-3 n their last four games overall. They lost at Texas Tech, were upset at home by Kansas State, and were throttled 71-87 at TCU over the weekend. The Longhorns are simply short on talent since the loss of their best player Andrew Jones to an illness and it’s starting to show of late.
Baylor simply owns Texas. The Bears are 5-0 SU & 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings with the Longhorns with three of those victories coming on the road. A big reason for that dominance is that Texas is always a terrible 3-point shooting team and can’t figure out the zone defense. The Longhorns have been held to 64 or fewer points in all five games during this series losing streak. And they are shooting just 31.7% from 3-point range this season. Jones shot 47.5% from 3-point range, so losing him has been huge. Bet Baylor Monday.

I'm recommending a play on the OVER for Monday's NBA action that has the Nets hosting the Clippers. Brooklyn is in a free-fall right now. They have lost 5 straight and 9 of 10 overall. Each of the last 3 games have finished OVER the total with a combined score of 121 or higher. The Nets have allowed 115+ in each of their last 3 games and 100+ in 11 straight. I don't see the defense intensity being turned up the last couple of games before the All-Star break.
The Clippers aren't a bad defensive team, but the tempo they play at has them giving up quite a few points. Over the last 15 games LA leads the league in pace of play and are giving up 106.9 ppg on the road this season. Brooklyn's offense has been hit or miss, but they show up at home, where they are averaging 106.5 ppg.
OVER is also 8-0 in the Nets last 8 home games after trailing by 20 or more in their last game and 15-5 in the Clippers last 20 road games when they come in having gone 5-2 or better in their previous 7 games. Take the OVER!

Have no choice here to take the Jazz. They are the hottest team in the league right now winning 9 straight games. There is no reason they shouldn't win here tonight as the Spurs are still battling injuries. Alridge, Gay, Leonard are out with Parker and Murray being questionable. The Spurs are also coming off Golden St and I look to fade those teams the next game after because they go all out on the Warriors.
