Vernon Croy 7-Unit Play. Take #063 Washington +100 over Florida (Thursday, February 22nd at 7:30 PM ET)
Take Washington on the moneyline as my 7-Unit NHL Smash for Thursday night. This pick falls into one of my top NHL systems and the Capitals are the superior team here tonight. This is also a strong situational play for me as it is the Panthers first home game after a long 5 game road trip, and the Capitals have averaged 44 shots on goal per game in their last two games against the Panthers. The Capitals are 7-3 in their last 10 road games against the Panthers and 15-6 in their last 21 games against the Panthers overall. The Panthers are just 1-11 in their last 12 games when playing their 4th game in 6 nights and just 1-6 in their last 7 games when playing a team with a winning record. The Capitals are 64-22 in their last 86 games against an Atlantic Division opponent and 59-24 in their last 83 games when playing with 1-day rest. Play Washington ML with great value as we move to 6-1 the last 6 days on the ice.
7-Unit Play. Take #556 Cleveland (-5.5) over Washington (8 p.m., Thursday, February 22)
The Cavs seem to have a new found energy with all their roster moves at the deadline and with a happy Lebron that should calculate into another finals visit for Cleveland. They traded aging unhappy veterans for energectic unproven youth and it would appear they are poised to make a run at the Warriors. This should be a good test for the new look Lebrons but the Wiz have been up and down so a win is in the cards once again. Five in a row for the Cavs.
