I'm recommending a play on the OVER in Wednesday's NBA action that has the Pistons hosting the Bucks. Detroit has been on a free-fall here of late, as they are just 1-6 in their last 7 games. A big reason for their poor play is their struggles on the defensive side of the ball. The Pistons have allowed 110 or more points in 5 of their last 6 games with the only exception coming against bottom feeder Atlanta. I look for the defensive woes to continue here against a Bucks offense that is averaging 115.7 points in their first 3 games out of the break.
The big key here is this should be a game where the Pistons also get their offense going. As good as Milwaukee has been offensively, the defense has been just as bad. The Bucks are giving up 116.3 ppg during this same 3-game stretch and don't figure to turn it around in the second game of a back-to-back off that crushing 104-107 loss to the Wizards at home .
OVER is also 6-3 in the Bucks last 9 off a loss by 6-points or less and 3-1 when off consecutive home defeats. OVER is also 8-1 in the Pistons last 9 after 3 straight games where they allowed 110 or more points. Take the OVER!

This figures to be a competitive defensive battle between two teams hoping to putt the past couple months of results in the rearview mirror. Earlier in league play Rutgers fell to Minnesota on the road by a final of 67-89, and now RUTGERS gets their payback tonight in a big way. Rutgers shot a season low 32% in that that while letting Minny get 35 FT attempts. I expect things to be different tonight.

I'm not about the hype, I'm about the win.
Huge revenge spot for Nevada in their bitter rivalry with UNLV. More bitter from the Reno perspective especially after the Rebels went to the Lawler Events Center, three weeks ago, and handed the 21st ranked Wolfpack a 86-78 loss.
Since that meeting, Nevada hasn't lost going 5-0, covering three of the five. UNLV is 2-3, with the same ATS record.
The problem for me is knowing that this is a Rebels team that may be one or two years away from competing on a national level again. I won't financially back a team that has a recent eight point loss to Air Force under their belt as a 13-pt favorite.
I'm backing the Wolfpack in a major revenge spot.

Now they host the Charlotte Hornets, who are in a difficult spot here playing the second of a back-to-back and their 5th game in 7 days. They have won five in a row, but the competition has been weak with home wins over Brooklyn, Detroit and Chicago, and road wins at Orlando and Washington. Their streak comes to an end tonight against a hungry Celtics team trying to chase down the Raptors for the top seed in the East. The Celtics are 10-1 in their last 11 meetings with the Hornets with seven of those victories coming by 7 points or more. Give me the Celtics.
