Teddy is RED HOT right now, hitting 75% across sports in March & he's riding longer term 67% NBA & 70% College Hoops hot streaks. Teddy's clients are still talking about his SCORCHING 41-18run to close out college hoops last year, hitting 68% in the Big Dance! Go 4-0 tonight with Teddy's Wednesday Winners!
The call the Pistons the biggest disappointment in the East since the Blake Griffin trade would not be an overstatement. And yes, that includes the ‘pointspread freefaller’ Cleveland Cavaliers; a team that just annihilated the Pistons by 20 in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score might indicate – a complete blowout after halftime.
The results do not lie. Detroit is now 2-9 SU in their last 11 ballgames, including three SU and ATS losses – all by double digit margins -- right here at Little Caesars Arena. They’ve dropped 4.5 games out of the playoff picture in the East. They’re also in the midst of a brutal scheduling run, playing their eighth game in 14 days with a pair of back-2-backs in the mix. This is a tired team, lacking in confidence and lacking much of a home court edge these days. Until starting point guard Reggie Jackson returns or head coach Stan Van Gundy gets fired, there’s absolutely no reason to expect any switch to get flipped on in Detroit.
At least Van Gundy is being honest about what’s going on: "I think the biggest thing is right now, we're not giving ourselves much of a chance to play well because we're playing so frustrated right now. Frustrated with the referees, frustrated even more by the ball not going into the basket. We're a very frustrated group right now, it's very hard to play like that…. We can never find more than one or two guys that are making shots. I mean you look at (Monday), not to single them out, but our bench is just struggling. I mean, really struggling. The ball didn't go in at all."
Bench struggles are a nightmare for any team playing the very deep Raptors these days, as Toronto’s second unit continues to dominate on a nightly basis. Toronto’s HUGE bench edge was on full display last week at the Air Canada Centre; a 123-94 blowout in which the Raptors bench was +22 vs. the Pistons bench. The Raptors depth is elite, plain and simple – that’s how they have a winning mark(both SU and ATS) on the second night of back-2-backs this year.
I want the veteran Raptors on the road: 5-1 SU and ATS in their last six tries, cashing at nearly a 60% clip on the highway for the full season. And I want them against a Pistons team they have owned: 8-2 ATS on their last ten trips to Detroit; 4-0 SU & 3-1 ATS in their last four tries against Stan Van Gundy. Chalk worth laying! Take Toronto

Play on: Notre Dame -2½ -105 at 5Dimes

        Dave’s Wednesday Free Play:
        1* on Notre Dame -2.5
The Key: A win over Virginia Tech here could propel Notre Dame into the NCAA Tournament. The committee realizes how good this team has been when Bonzie Colson is in the lineup, but he missed 15 games earlier this season. The Fighting Irish didn’t have leading scorer Colson or second leading scorer Matt Farrell when they played Virginia Tech earlier this season on January 27th, an 80-75 home loss. But they have both this time around and should be the hungrier team in the rematch given what’s at stake for them. The Hokies will make the NCAA Tournament regardless of what happens tonight. The Fighting Irish are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS loss. Take Notre Dame.

The Detroit Pistons will be putting their best foot forward tonight at home against the Toronto Raptors. They are coming off an embarrassing road loss at Cleveland and had yesterday off to regroup. They are still one of the better home teams in the NBA with a 20-13 record on their home court. The Raptors played yesterday against the Hawks needed a big 4th quarter to pull away for the win after trailing enter the 4th. The Raptors will now be playing the second of a back-to-back and their 3rd game in 4 days here. The Pistons are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a winning percentage above 60%. Give me the Pistons.

Play on: Oklahoma State PK -106 at pinnacle

I'm recommending a play on Oklahoma State on Wednesday. Lon Kruger has another underachieving squad with Oklahoma, which is 10-20 ATS and 2-9 SU/ATS its last 11 games. Opponents have figured out how to defend Trae Young, who is shooting only 42.4 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from 3-point range. Young was only 5 of 19 overall and 1 of 9 from beyond the arc against Iowa State in the regular season finale. Oklahoma State has played one of the tougher schedules in the country and swept Kansas and the Cowboys now have an outside chance of an NCAA Tournament berth if they go far in the Big 12 Tournament. The Cowboys are led by Jeffrey Carroll, who averages 15.1 points per game and 5.9 rebounds. Kendall Smith adds 12.9 points per game while shooting 41.2 percent on 3-pointers. Coach Mike Boynton has done a superb job after taking over from Brad Underwood, who probably wishes he had stayed at Stillwater. We're recommending a play on Oklahoma State on Wednesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

10* FREE NCAAB PICK (South Carolina -2.5)
My money is on the Gamecocks here at basically a pick'em in Wednesday's first round action of the SEC Tournament. South Carolina hasn't had the best of seasons, but the key here is how well they closed out the regular-season. The Gamecocks covered each of their final 6 games, but did go just 3-3 SU during this stretch, which I think is why we are still seeing them undervalued here.
Ole Miss isn't just a team they can beat, but one they can blowout. The Rebels went just 1-11 over their final 12 games. They only won twice all season away from their home floor.
Both of these teams do struggle offensively, but it's a much different story on the defensive side. In South Carolina's last 5 games they held their opponents to just 38.3% shooting. In Ole Miss' last 5 games, opponents shot 48.1% and they gave up 47.6% shooting away from home on the year. Give me the Gamecocks -2.5!

                      NBA | Raptors vs Pistons
Play on: Raptors -5 -111 at BMaker

The Pistons couldn't survive a long-term injury to Reggie Jackson. The trade for Blake Griffin hasn't turned them around. Detroit is 2-9 in its last 11 games and out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference by five games. Morale is shot for the Pistons as they head home having gone 0-3 on their road trip that ended with a 22-point loss to the underachieving Cavaliers. That was the 20th time in their last 26 games the Pistons have failed to cover the spread. So we'll say goodbye to Stan Van Gundy. I don't see the Pistons able to regroup against Toronto, one of the hottest and best teams in the NBA right now. The Raptors are 12-1 in their last 13 games, including winning five in a row. They have the second-best point spread mark in the NBA and have dominated inferior competition going 20-8 ATS versus sub .500 teams. They also have covered eight of the last 10 against the Pistons in Detroit. The line is shorter than I thought possibly because the Pistons played last night. But no one played more than 30 minutes for the Raptors in their 106-90 home win against Atlanta last night. Detroit's lone strength is a frontcourt of Andre Drummond and Griffin. The Raptors, though, hold a monster backcourt edge with Kyle Lowery and DeMar DeRozan and have one of the deepest frontcourt rotations led by Serge Ibaka and Jonas Valanciunas to counter Drummond and Griffin.

                            #NBA FREE PICK
The LA Lakers had won five straight prior to a 108-103 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday despite holding an 11-point lead with under six minutes remaining. They're still 9-1 ATS in their last 10 home games overall and 8-0 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a losing road record, and I think they'll be able to handle the Orlando Magic here Wednesday night. Orlando is coming off a 94-80 loss at Utah on Monday and it has lost eight of its last 10.
The Lakers are 9-5 ATS as a favorite on the season and looking to avenge a 127-105 loss in Orlando on Jan. 31.
My free pick is on LA Lakers.
