I think THE OTHER GIFT is a solid choice. In the upper half of earnings per start at the distance/surface in this lot. Esquilin has a win percentage of 25 over the last 30 days. Is tough not to examine based on Equibase Speed Figures which have been competitive - 65 avg - of late. EL TUCAN - Gomez has a sharp winning percentage with horses racing in dirt sprint races. With Castro controlling the reins on him, this colt will probably be able to break out sharply for this race. ANY CHANNEL - Solid jockey with conditioner figures make this horse a very strong pick.

PETE'S PLAY CALL - Sneaky speed on this one. He'll probably be stalking horses on the back side, then bury them down the stretch. After the event aboard this horse on Jan 25th, the jock is going to 'know' the gelding much better. If this horse repeats any of his last 3 outings, he'll have a great shot to win in today's race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #9 BAJAN CASH (ML=5/2), #5 HE'S SO ZAZZY (ML=9/2), #4 STAR'S VALENTINO (ML=6/1),

BAJAN CASH - Would have to move up off that sixth place finish last time out of the box to make an impact here. Don't feel this steed will make an impact in today's race. That last speed figure was disappointing when compared with today's class rating. HE'S SO ZAZZY - This less than sharp equine hasn't won in his last ten efforts. He's not worth the value today.
