Allen Eastman 8-Unit Play. Play on Kentucky -4.5 over Davidson Thursday March 15 7p.m. EST
Kentucky -4.5 is my NCAA Tournament Game of the Year. I think that this game is going to be a blowout. I don't think that this game will be close and I think that this line is way off. The public is looking for upsets. And because this is a game between the No. 5 seed and the No. 12 seed they will be looking for an upset in this game. But Kentucky should dominate this one. The Wildcats won the SEC championship last week with three easy wins. This team is now 7-1 SU in their last eight games and most of those wins have been blowouts. Coach John Calipari has worked with his young team and he has them playing well right now. Davidson is lucky to be in the NCAA Tournament. They were able to pull a couple of upsets and win the Atlantic 10 tournament. But now that they are here I don't see this team winning a game. Davidson has been blown out by tournament teams like Nevada by 13, North Carolina by 10 and Virginia by 20. This team won't be able to hold up against Kentucky's excellent freshmen and I see the Wildcats winning this game by double digits. Lay the points.

                    COLLEGE BASKETBALL PLAYS

3 Unit Play. Take #722 Virginia Tech -2 over Alabama (9:20p.m., Thursday March 15 TNT)
Here are two teams that come to the NCAA Tournament struggling as the Alabama Crimson Tide have dropped 6 out 8 and the Virginia Tech Hokies have dropped 3 out 4. The pace of the game will dictate the outcome and tonight I see the Va Tech Hokies keeping this pace fast and the Hokies win this game and wouldn't shock me to see this total go over. Virginia Tech is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference opponents and the Hokies are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games.

3 Unit Play. Take #731 San Diego St +4 over Houston (7:20p.m., Thursday March 15 TBS)
San Diego St comes to the NCAA Tournament red hot and we cashed some big tickets with them in the Mountain West tournament and tonight we ride them again. The Aztecs have won 9-Straight games and 6 of those victories have come from double-digit victories. Houston lost to Cincinnati on Sunday and we both teams playing outstanding defense I give the edge to the Aztecs who has the better offense. The Aztecs have averaged 78.4ppg in their 9-game winning streak and if this is a high scoring game I don't see Houston keeping up. San Diego St is 6-2 ATS last 8 non-conference games and the Houston Cougars are 1-4 ATS last 5 Mountain West opponents.

7 Unit Play. Take #733 Over 135 Montana vs Michigan (9:50p.m., Thursday March 15 TBS)
When the totals were posted for Thursday-Friday first round of the NCAA Tournament games this total immediately hit my radar and I thought this total would have moved to 137 by Thursday morning. The Montana Grizzlies come to the NCAA Tournament trending OVER games and they have cashed 3-Straight and 5 out 7. The Michigan Wolverines are also trending OVER games heading into the 'Big Dance' and the Wolverines are 5-0-2 O/U in their last 7 games. If the 3-ball hits tonight for both teams then this total flies over and I see them tempo being fast especially if Montana controls the tempo. I believe getting 135 tonight for this total is a steal and tonight both teams hit the mid-70's and we start the NCAA Tournament with a nice 'Big Unit' winner. Montana is 4-0 O/U in their last 4 neutral site games and the Wolverines are 5-0-2 O/U following a SU win.

4 Unit Play. Take #747 South Dakota St +8.5 over Ohio St (4:00p.m., Thursday March 15 TNT)I'm just not sold on the Ohio St Buckeyes especially away from home! Ohio St have dropped 3 out of their last 5 games and their last 4 games away from home they have dropped 3 out of 4. South Dakota St comes into the NCAA Tournament red-hot and yes I know the Jackrabbits played in a weak conference but I do see them covering this number tonight and wouldn't shock me to see OSU only winning by 5-points or less. Ohio St is 5-21 ATS in their last 26 neutral site games and the Jackrabbits are 6-2 ATS against non-conference games.

                              8-Unit Play. Take #722 Virginia Tech (-2) over Alabama (9:20 p.m., Thursday, March 15)
NOTE: This is my NCAA Tournament Game of the Year.

I always like to bet against those fringe teams that shouldn't have made the NCA Tournament, but that earned a spot in The Big Dance due to the sheer stupidity of the selection committee. Well, that about sums it up for Alabama. The Crimson Tide are not a good team and they do not deserve to be playing in this tournament. Most people believe that they punched their ticket with the two wins in the SEC Tournament. But I think that those two wins were flukes. First, they were outplayed by a sketchy Texas A&M team and won that game on a buzzer beater because the Aggies were too dumb to force the ball out of Collin Sexton's hands. Next, they beat an Auburn team that is beat up, sagging, and ripe for some losses. Somehow those two fluke wins convinced people that this team, which had lost five straight games prior to the SEC Tournament, was good enough to be in the NCAA Tournament field. This is one of the youngest teams in the tournament. And yeah, they have managed to get oddly hot and win some big games by blowouts (like what they did to Auburn, Florida and Tennessee in the regular season). But all of their big wins came at home and I simply don't trust this team. I think they are lucky to still be playing and I don't see them advancing.

When last we saw Virginia Tech we were cashing in with a 7-Unit Play on Notre Dame. But having watched every minute of that game I can say that was a lucky win by the Irish. And after losing three of their last four games I think that this Virginia Tech team is undervalued. This team beat Duke on Feb. 26. They are one of only two teams in the country that has beaten Virginia this year. They can score. And you never have to worry about whether or not a Buzz Williams team is going to come to play. This Alabama team has some solid veteran players and this team is going to be ready to go in this one.

I think that Alabama is overrated. I don't think they deserve to be in the field and I think that a lot of people are overvaluing this team right now. Alabama has been garbage on the road this season and they are set up for a letdown after their run in the SEC tourney last week. Virginia Tech is underrated and this team should be ready to go after two straight last-second losses. Virginia Tech has a potent offense. And if they hold up defensively I think that their guards are a lot more polished than what Alabama is packing. This game won't be a rout. (If it is a rout that is because Alabama plays out of its mind and if we lose this wager it will likely be because the Crimson Tide played way above themselves and they blow out Virginia Tech.) But I do see Virginia Tech sealing the deal in the last three minutes and I can see them winning this one by seven. I'll call it 74-67 with the Hokies advancing.

                              1-Unit Play. Take #725 Iona (+20.5) over Duke (2:45 p.m., Thursday, March 15)
2-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 158.0 Iona at Duke (2:45 p.m., Thursday, March 15)

Neither one of these teams plays any defense. I can see Duke getting to 90+ here. They have averaged around 84 points all season long and there is no way that the Gaels have enough size to slow down the Blue Devils. However, Iona can put the ball in the hole. And I don't expect them to slow down their tempo at all. Iona combined with Oregon to score 170 points in The Big Dance last year and rung up a total of 175 against Iowa State in the tournament two years ago. There's no reason to think that this game would be any different. Playing Duke in the tournament is like playing in the national title game for most teams, so Iona is going to max out in this one. And if they can hit some shots early and hang around in this one they will gain some confidence. At least enough confidence not to get run out of the gym.

                              2-Unit Play. Take #730 Seton Hall (-2.5) over N.C. State (4:30 p.m., Thursday, March 15)

I know this is just me being stubborn. But I can't help it with this Seton Hall team. I just know that they have not played their best basketball yet. And I can't shake the feeling that this senior class has an encore left in them. N.C. State is really good. But I am going with the experience of the Pirates. They have three seniors that are four-year starters and they have a really nice blend of talent. I don't think that this team has played its best basketball yet this year. And I know these seniors are going to max out trying to extend their careers. This is going to be a very close game down the stretch. But it is one that I think that the Pirates can find a way to win by four or five points.

                              1-Unit Play. Take #733 Montana (+10.5) over Michigan (9:50 p.m., Thursday, March 15)

I know that Michigan has been a buzzsaw over the last month and tore through the Big Ten tournament. However, I am wondering if the 11 days off in between games has blunted their momentum. This team isn't great in the favorite role (John Beilein teams are always most dangerous in the underdog role) and this is a lot of points. Also, there is a reverse line movement here that we can't ignore. Over two-thirds of the betting in this game is coming down on the Wolverines but the line is going the other way. The Big Sky was actually really good this year and Montana took care of business. This is a good program and they have a pretty experienced team. I think they can make enough shots to make this one a game. Mainly though, this is a system play. Several of my NCAA tournament betting systems are pointing toward the Grizzlies so we'll take a stab with a big underdog.

                              1-Unit Play. Take #737 Wright State (+11.5) over Tennessee (12:40 p.m., Thursday, March 15)

This is a really tough spot for Tennessee. When last we saw this group they were playing on Sunday in St. Louis for the SEC championship against Kentucky. That was their third game in three days. Now they have to turn around four days later and get up for an early tip against Wright State? That's a lot to ask a young team that starts four sophomores. There's no doubt who the better team is in this game. But Wright State is scrappy as hell. They defend well and this team went on the road and beat Georgia Tech this year, so that's something. I feel like Wright State can take advantage of a sluggish start from the Vols to keep this one close.

                              1-Unit Play. Take #740 Florida (-5.5) over St. Bonaventure (9:55 p.m., Thursday, March 15)
1-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 143.0 St. Bonaventure vs. Florida (9:55 p.m., Thursday, March 15)

St. Bonaventure played a tournament game on Saturday in D.C. Then they turned around and played another tournament game on Tuesday in Dayton. Now they are playing a third win-or-go-home game in six days out in Dallas. That's tough. That's a lot. And I think that they will be worn out. They beat a mediocre UCLA team in the play-in, and that's really because UCLA played like trash. Florida is a boom-or-bust team. If they are hitting their shots from deep then they are good enough to beat anyone. If they aren't hitting then they are beatable.

                              4-Unit Play. Take #741 Stephen F. Austin (+11) over Texas Tech (7 p.m., Thursday, March 15)

It was just two years ago that Stephen F. Austin took out West Virginia in a 3-14 matchup and they could do it again here. SFA beat LSU this year and only lost to Missouri and Mississippi State by a combined six points, so they can play with teams from major conferences. The Lumberjacks press, trap and push the tempo and will do so against a Red Raiders team that doesn't have a lot of ball handlers. Finally, you know this game might as well be the national championship for SFA. They are getting a chance to pull a major upset against a much bigger in-state school and they get to do so playing even closer to home than Texas Tech will be. The Red Raiders should be ready for a 40-minute fight.

                              2-Unit Play. Take #743 Davidson (+5) over Kentucky (7 p.m., Thursday, March 15)

I know that Kentucky has been hot. But this is the youngest team in the country. They don't even have a junior or senior on the roster. So I think it is going to be tricky for this team to go from playing their best basketball in St. Louis and winning the SEC title to turning around, flying out to Boise, and playing Davidson. The Wildcats have been hot and so far in the year 2018 only one team has beaten them by more than four points. They have a lot of guys that can make shots and I think they can keep the pressure on. Also, there is a big-time reverse line movement in this game. Over 70 percent of the public is betting the surging Cats. But the line is dropping. I'll play with the books on this one.

                              1-Unit Play. Take #745 Buffalo (+8.5) over Arizona (9:40 p.m., Thursday, March 15)

3-Unit Play. Take #747 South Dakota State (+8.5) over Ohio State (4 p.m., Thursday, March 15)
