A nice 2-0 sweep has us rolling again in the NBA and we look to keep that streak going into the weekend.
Here’s our best bets for the action ahead:
Washington Wizards @ San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs had little trouble holding a depleted Warriors team to their lowest point total of the season as they recorded their third straight win.
Gregg Popovich certainly has his team playing the style of basketball we expect from San Antonio and that half court, playoff style ball will again be on display in this one.
Washington have been allowed to play an up-tempo style in their last few games that have seen them go Over their points total in four straight games as a result.
The key here however is that the Wizards will be forced into playing at a tempo that suits the home side, which will see a significant drop in their number of possessions per 48 minutes.
The Spurs hold teams to around 44% shooting from the field and if they can limit the damage done by Washington’s starters from beyond the arc they’ll certainly be able to keep them under 100 points here.
The home side have kept four of their last five opponents to Under 98 points at the AT&T Center and our data has them adding another team to that list.
The only way this one will go Over the points total is if Washington’s starters carry the load as their bench will have a very tough time scoring on one of the best defensive second units in the NBA.
This number will likely drop to 202 overnight but even still it represents enough value given we’re projecting this one to finish at 198.2 points combined.
Tip: Under 203.5 points @ $1.92 (Sportsbet)
