    NBA | Cavs vs Hornets
Play on: Hornets -110 at BMaker

Cavaliers vs Hornets Free Pick March 28, 2018

The Cavs are in a tough spot tonight in Charlotte. They are coming off a 19-point blowout loss at Miami last night. They were out-scored by 20 points in the first half of last night's game. The news goes from bad to worse for the Cavs, and just a few days after he returned from injury, Kevin Love could be on the shelf again. The Cavs second leading scorer took a shot to the head in last night's loss, and he will be evaluated Wednesday to determine if the will be put in the league's concussion protocol. The Hornets have won four straight, and they have been lighting up the scoreboard during their win streak, averaging 122.5 points per game. Cleveland hasn't been good at picking up the pieces after a tough game, going just 7-20 ATS in their last 27 games following an ATS loss. Cleveland has failed to cover in five of it's last seven road games, and playing the second game of a back to back, possibly without Love, they shouldn't be a favorite here in Charlotte.

    Take CHA.

    GL,

    Jesse Schule

NHL | Coyotes vs Golden Knights
Play on: Coyotes +220 at 5Dimes

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NHL Game #57 Wednesday Free Pick Arizona Coyotes Money Line (+230) @ Vegas Golden Knights @ 10:05 ET - The Coyotes want this game badly. This is the 5th and final meeting for this season between these divisional foes and Arizona lost each of the first four. The Coyotes did lose two of those games in overtime and they are playing much better hockey now than they were back when the prior meetings took place. In fact, this is the first meeting between these divisional foes in nearly 4 months. The Coyotes enter this game having gone 14-7-2 in their last 23 games. Note that the situation here is strengthened too because, not only is Arizona hungry, the Golden Knights are off of a playoff-clinching win over Colorado Monday. Vegas could be in for a letdown here. Keep in mind they had lost 4 of 6 and 8 of 14 prior to the win over the Avalanche. Based on all of the above, this is the perfect spot to take a shot with a huge underdog. Vegas has big games on deck versus St Louis and San Jose (right behind them in division) and after the huge back to back games with Colorado, this is a sandwich spot for the Golden Knights. NBA | Nets vs Magic
        Play on: Nets -1½ -103 at 5Dimes

I'm recommending a play on the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. Joe Harris is on fire while getting more minutes for the Nets and the team has picked it up on the offensive end as the brass has mixed and matched certain lineups. The Nets are averaging 113 points per game over their last six, making over 47 percent of their shots over their last five. Orlando doesn't have a lot of offensive "outs" and have scored about 99 points per game in their last five. They're making about 10 of 30 treys per night and the Magic aren't getting to the free throw line, attempting about 17 per game of late, 10 fewer free throw attempts than Brooklyn is averaging over the same time span. Joe Harris scored 30 points and grabbed seven rebounds against the Cavaliers and we expect more minutes tonight. Orlando has won just four of their last 19 games outright. Brooklyn has covered five in a row on the road and they're 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings. I'm recommending a play on the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

          NBA | Celtics vs Jazz
Play on: Jazz -7½ -106 at pinnacle

DMack's Free Play for Wednesday, March 28, 2018 is on the Utah Jazz
The Jazz have split four games after winning nine straight. They are off a blowout win at toothless Golden State but just one game safe in the ultra-competitive West. Boston has won 5 of 7 but other than a win at Portland have been beating teams with vacation reservations in two weeks. The Celts face a team that is white-hot and plays defense like they're not used to. No urgency for Boston either way has Jazz extending late to another double-digit win.

The big story out of the "Windy City" is Loyola-Chicago heading to San Antonio for the Final Four this Saturday, but Illinois-Chicago is ALSO still "dancing", as they play this semifinal meeting in Lynchburg, Virginia against the Flames of Liberty.

Both teams have won and covered both of their games in this CIT, but it is Illinois-Chicago that has had a few extra days of preparation, as they have been off since the 21st, while Liberty last played on the 24th.

Liberty has only seen 10 of their games this season sport an "official" number, and while they are 3-1 against the spread in their 4 lined home games, Illinois-Chicago can counter with a 10-6 against the spread mark on the road for the season.

The visiting Flames have a little more "octane" in their tank on offense (75.3 ppg) than the host Flames (69.4 ppg), and while Illinois of Chicago does allow 9 points per game more, they do grab more rebounds per game - at almost 5 per 40 minutes - so I think all things being equal there just isn't a 3 basket difference between the schools tonight.

I am sure the Chicago-based Flames also have a pretty big chip on their shoulders having to see the local news cover the Ramblers 24/7, so expect an "us vs. the world" mentality tonight, and expect a close game too.

            Illinois-Chicago to cover.

            4* ILLINOIS-CHICAGO

              On to my complimentary winner...

The Cleveland Cavaliers went into Miami last night, and the Heat served that ass. To the tune of a 98-79 thrashing, and now the Cavs have to go into Charlotte to face a Hornets team that has won four in a row, and has had a night to recoup since a 137-128 marathon win over New York.

Charlotte has a lot of ground to gain, and I don't know if it will be able to sneak in unless Milwaukee or Miami collapses, but the Hornets won't go out lame.

With a chance to catch a hindered Cavs team tonight, at home, I'll play the Hornets.

              1* HORNETS

Suddenly, the Washington Capitals have found their rhythm. And as they ride a four-game win streak into tonight's game against the New York Rangers, I have to believe Ovi is primed for another big game.

NHL-leading goal scorer Alex Ovechkin has helped the Capitals during an 8-1 run that has seen the team outscore opponents by a collective final of 36-23 in that span. During that span, the Capitals have trailed in each of those nine games for a total of 42:18 minutes, the lowest in the NHL
                since March 10.

The Rangers, meanwhile, have lost four of five and seven of 10, as goaltending has been an issue since Henrik Lundqvist suffered a scary injury. He will be back, but the Rangers are out of the playoffs, so there isn't much motivation.

On the other hand, the Capitals hold a five-point lead in the Metropolitan Division through games played March 26, and are looking for
their third consecutive division title and 11th overall.
