San Antonio Spurs @ Washington Wizards
The Spurs had their six-game win streak snapped in Milwaukee last time out but should feel confident when they head to the nation’s capital for this one.
Washington are flailing at the moment and it seems the loss of John Wall has finally, as expected, caught up with this team.
Scott Brook’s side have struggled for any consistency in the back end of the season and have now lost five of their last seven overall – including their last three straight.
One of those was a 98-90 loss in San Antonio in a game where they simply weren’t allowed to control the tempo and were forced to surrender control of the game as a result.
There’s no denying that Gregg Popovich has hit team primed once more heading into the playoffs and that doesn’t bode well for a team that seems to have lost direction on offence.
In their last three starts, Washington has averaged just 95.6 points per game. While one of those was against a stout San Antonio defence the other two were against sides that rank 21st (Knicks) and 24th (Nuggets) in the league in defensive efficiency.
Sharp money has come in thick and fast on the Spurs in Vegas, which isn’t surprising given the metrics that demonstrate the large disparity between the two teams at the moment.
In their last five games, San Antonio is holding teams to 98.4 points per game on 45.9% shooting form the field. Their ability to control the tempo and force teams into a slower, half-court game has masked their “slow” fast break defence and has minimised the number of opportunities being given up as a result.
They’re allowing teams to shoot an average of just 82.4 field goals per game, which is an incredibly low number that forces teams to make buckets at a much higher rate than they’re use to.
More importantly for them, they are restricting teams to just 34.2% from beyond the arc – an area that Washington is largely dependant on in order to stay in games.
The Spurs have won the last four straight meetings between these teams, and have gone 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 meetings with the Wizards. These teams are going to continue trending in opposite directions and there’s simply too much value on San Antonio not to take them in this spot.
Tip: San Antonio Spurs -1.0 @ $1.93 (Unibet) (1.5 units)

Here’s our best bets for the action ahead:
    Boston Bruins @ Winnipeg Jets
    Tip: Winnipeg Jets @ $1.74 (Bet 365) (1.5 units)

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Edmonton Oilers
Tip: Columbus Blue Jackets (regulation time) @ $2.15 (Unibet)

5-Unit Play. #777. Take Western Kentucky -1.5 over Utah (Tuesday @ 7pm est)

We roll with Western Kentucky today as they should get it done in the NIT SemiFinals. Couple of things here as you note that Western Kentucky is led by Rick Stansbury who used to coach Mississippi State and he has done a great job building this program in his 2nd year. They did not go to the post-seaosn last year. They won 15 games last year and now in his 2nd year he has led them to 27 huge wins including monster wins over Oklahoma State, USC and Boston College. This is a team remember that lost by just 1 point to Marshall in the conference tournament, beat Marhsall 117-87 earlier this year on the road, is afraid of no one and beat Purdue on neutral footing by 4 points and also fell just short, to Villanova by just 8 points as well. This is the better team and we roll with the more motivated team to get it done here today. We apologize about yesterday's 8*, note that we are 2-1 with 8* this year now, we just did not think San Fran would hit 75% in 3 pointers in the first half including hitting 7 straight at one point and still North Texas only lost by 10 points, we will bounce-back today and looking forward to it.

5-Unit Play. #775. Take Indiana Pacers -6.5 over Golden State Warriors
The Pacers need this game just 1.5 games back from Cleveland and they have something special with Oladipo and company cooking. This team got routed by Golden State last time out and they will want to exact some revenge coming in, need this game, it's important for them to win this game and with the Warriors without their 4 all stars with the only option of Draymond maybe playing, it could be a long night as the Pacers from the East will have something to prove here as they head out West. The Pacers want to win this game and they don't care who is playing for the Warriors because as those guys are on the bench, they will want to prove something with the elite of the NBA watching.

3-Unit Play. #772. Take Sacramento Kings -2.5 over Dallas Mavericks (Tuesday @ 10pm est)
Mark Cuban does not want to win this game by any stretch of the imagination. With his team 3 games from the win column behind Sacramento and the fact the Kings have not quit on the season even beating the Hawks, playing really competitive against Utah and the Celtics leading at many points in those contests, look for the Kings to continue to improve and play well in this contest as they likely pick up the win here as the Kings simply have not quit on the season and it's hard to imagine Dallas getting up for this game and the Kings continue to play hard regardless of wins and losses and that's promising as they are less interested in tanking than Dallas it seems.
