With the NBA taking a day off we look fo a full card of baseball tips for punters:

Kansas City Royals @ Detroit Tigers
Both these teams will be hoping to pick up their first wins of the season after disappointing starts at home. Detroit will send Francisco Liriano to the mound and will hope he fares better than he did last season, where he recorded an ERA of 5.66 – his worst since 2009. The 34year-old has struggled at home for his new team as well, going 4-7 with a 5.80 ERA in 12 appearances at the mound. The Tigers offence however could do enough on their own to counter any potential struggles from Liriano as they take on Jason Hammel. The 35-year-old owned 4.13 ERA in five appearance against Detroit last season – which is still better than his season ERA of 5.29. The concern for the Royals is their bullpen has been horrible to start the year and won’t provide much relief if Hammel gets off to a shaky start. They’ve allowed 12 runs in eight innings so far this season and with the Tigers hitters showing good life against Pittsburgh they should have no problem putting runs on the board here.

LA Dodgers @ Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks will get a chance to exact some small revenge on the team that swept them out of the NL Division Series and will hope for some continued improvement from Taijuan Walker at the mound. Despite his 9-9 record last year Arizona really began to see the best of Walker, particularly in the back end of the season. He was also impressive against the Dodgers last season, going 2-0 in three starts against them with a 3.24 ERA to match. The Dodgers hitters broke out the bats in their series finale against the Giants, but our projections are a lot less fond of them repeating those efforts. On the flip side, they’ll be sending South Korean Hyun-Jin Ryu to the mound with hopes he’s overcome injuries that plagued him throughout 2017. Their bullpen showed great signs dealing with a lacklustre Giants offence in that series and if Ryu can show his best early on this one should stay comfortably Under the total. Our projections have a combined 7.7 runs being scored here giving us good value on the total.
