Your Tuesday freebie is the Raptors as the small dog against the Cavaliers.
When Cleveland and Toronto met on March 21st at Quicken Loans Arena, the Raptors outscored the Cavaliers 41-22 in the second quarter of play to lead by 13-points at the break. Toronto was pretty much in control, but they did let their foot off the pedal and got caught by the Cavs in the end in a 132-129 stinging loss that left the Toronto players shaking their heads come the post-game interview session.
This game definitely has significance, as the Raptors overall lead in the East with just over a week remaining in the regular season is 2 games over Boston. The Cavaliers are currently sitting in 3rd in the East Standings, but only a half-game ahead of Philadelphia, and a game ahead on Indiana for the 5th seed!
I see Toronto making a "statement" tonight. Yes, this game is on the road, and yes, Cleveland swept the Raptors out of the postseason last May, but this one is about the compilation of the whole season, and for the whole season the Raptors have been the better, more consistent team.
After coming off a loss at Boston their last time out - Raptors just 3-4 straight up the last 7 games! - Toronto steps up and gets that good feeling back in their mouths with the big-time road win at Cleveland this Tuesday night.
Play the Raptors.
