I'm recommending a play on the UNDER in Wednesday's MLB action that has the Dodgers visiting the Diamondbacks. These two teams combined for 15 runs and 33 hits in the series opener on Monday, but both offenses cooled in Game 2, which saw just 7 runs and 12 hits. I think we are in line for another low-scoring battle here between these two NL West rivals and we are getting a great number here to back the UNDER.
Los Angeles will send out Alex Wood, who picked up right where he left off from last year's breakout campaign. Wood tossed 8 scoreless innings against the Giants in his first start, allowing just 1 hit and didn't walk a single batter. Arizona will send out Pat Corbin, who also pitched very well in his first start, holding a potent Rockies offense to just 2 runs with 8 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
UNDER is 25-9 in Wood's last 34 starts against a team with a winning record and 11-2 in the Dodgers last 13 road games against NL teams that are averaging 5 or more runs/game. Take the UNDER!

I backed the Padres last night in a winner, but will be looking to fade here now. I think Gray and the Rockies will bounce back after the Padres got their first win. Gray is 4-2 life time with a 2.40 ERA against San Diego. I'm also going to give him a pass in the first outing going against the D Backs who always hit the ball well at home. This is a step down and the price is right.

Dallas Keuchel looks for his first win of the season as the Astros host the Orioles. The southpaw is 3-2 with a 2.93 ERA and a WHIP of 1.050 in six career starts against Baltimore with five of those going under the total. He beat them at home last May holding them to one run and four hits in six innings. The Orioles have gone under in four of their five contests this season as the offense has been underwhelming. Dylan Bundy threw seven shutout innings against the Twins in his first start. He had seven strikeouts and one walk over that span. Houston's offense has been fantastic and it's hard for me to expect them to be limited by Bundy, but let's say he goes seven and we get the good Baltimore bullpen, then I think this is a lower scoring game.

There has been no World Series hangover for the Astros. They have opened 5-1 this season with all five of their wins coming by 3 runs or more. That’s why I’m not afraid to back them on the Run Line tonight, especially as this plus-price as underdogs.
The Astros have arguably the most potent lineup in baseball. That has been evident as they are hitting .288 and scoring 6.3 runs per game, including .323 and 8.0 runs per game at home this year. Dallas Keuchel gets the ball and he’s 3-2 with a 2.93 ERA and 1.050 WHIP in six career starts against Baltimore.
The Orioles have opened 1-4 this season. They are hitting just .176 and scoring 2.4 runs per game thus far. Dylan Bundy was rocked for 7 earned runs, 2 homers and 11 base runners over 5 1/3 innings in his lone start against Houston last season.
Baltimore is 4-22 as an underdog of +150 or higher over the last two seasons. The Orioles are getting outscored by 4.1 runs per game in this spot on average. Bet the Astros on the Run Line Wednesday.

The Spurs played an incredibly tough game last night against the Clippers and they lost in the end. We think this is a big letdown spot for them after the game, and the Lakers will probably be looking for one more marquee win to hang their hats on heading into the offseason. Not sure they will get it tonight, but at least we expect this game to be close. The Lakers have covered in three straight meetings between these teams. Both teams come in off a back-to-back but the Spurs are on the road here (even though they played in the same building last night, but that is still a disadvantage on a back-to-back), and the Spurs played a tougher game last night. The Lakers always seem to get up big time for this matchup, and we expect another competitive game tonight.

They are just 5-18 in their last 23 games overall and would be better served losing this game to get a better chance at a top pick in the lottery. The Mavericks have at least remained competitive down the stretch, covering four of their last seven while pulling off an outright upset over Portland 115-109 as 7-point home underdogs last time out. The Mavs are 3-1 SU & 3-1 ATS in their last four meetings with the Magic while winning by 15, 32 and 13 points. The Magic are 17-38 ATS in their last 55 games following a win, while the Mavs are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games following a win. Dallas is 9-2 ATS in its last 11 meetings in Orlando. Detroit has gotten hot again but it’s likely too little, too late barring a complete meltdown by either Miami or Milwaukee. Seeing that the Heat has a home and home set with the Eastern Conference basement dwelling Hawks, it seems unlikely that they’re going to wilt. First of all though, the Pistons have to take care of their own business right now. The 76ers are rolling and even playing the second game of a back to back, you can’t overlook that momentum. Philadelphia has beaten Detroit all three times this season: they make it a clean sweep here.

This is the second game of a home-and-home set, with the Heat holding on for the 101-98 victory at South Beach last night. Miami earned the victory, but it failed to cover against-the-spread.
While I’m going to stop short in calling for an outright upset here, I do think that the home side will once again keep this one competitive as it looks to punch one into the win column in front of the home town crowd.
Miami averages 103.3 PPG and it concedes 102.7. Hassan Whiteside averages 14.1 points and 11.6 boards per game, while guard Goran Dragic averages 17.4 points, four boards and 4.8 assists per night.
I’ll point out though that the Heat are just 17-22 on the road this year. They’re also just 16-20 ATS as the favorite this season.
Atlanta averages 103.4 PPG and it concedes 108.9. Taurean Prince averages 13.6 points and 4.8 boards per game. Note that the Hawks are 6-2 ATS in their last eight after scoring 100 points or less in their previous contest and I think that recent strong trend continues here.
I think we’ll see a “repeat” from last night, as I expect Atlanta to take this one down to the wire. Consider grabbing the points in this matchup.
