A tough bottom of the ninth loss kept our profits small but we’ll continue to make gains on the new MLB season. Here’s our best bets for the action ahead:
Seattle Mariners @ San Francisco GiantsTy Blach was very impressive in squaring off against Clayton Kershaw on opening day and there was plenty to suggest it wasn’t just a one-off showing. The left-hander allowed just three hits in five innings against a Dodgers line up that posses a lot more punch than the Mariners. The good news for the Giants is Blach has performed better at home in his career where he is 6-5 with a 3.83 in 19 appearances at AT&T Park. The Giants offence is in an absolute struggle and while we’re not sure what we’ll get from Marco Gonzales if it’s anything like what we get from him in spring training he’ll do more than enough to tame San Fran’s hitters. We’re projecting this one to combine for 6.2 runs and feel we’re getting numbers here.

St Louis Cardinals @ Milwaukee BrewersThe Cards made is back-to-back wins as they took the series opener in this one, but will have a much tougher time scoring on Chase Anderson. The 30-year-old backed up an impressive 2017 showing by throwing six scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Padres. Anderson went 2-0 with a 3.04 ERA in four showings against the Cardinals last season and should give us another 5+ innings at the mound in this one. St Louis will send Jack Flaherty to the mound in response and will hope he can improve on a vulnerable showing in 2017. He gave up four runs on five hits in five innings against the Brewers last season in one of his two losses on the year. The 22-year-old has impressed in his Triple-A and Double-A showings but that’s not resonated in the majors as yet where he recorded a 6.33 ERA last season. We’ve got a really good lean on the home side here and feel we’re getting them at way over odds when they should be around $1.65.

I hit on Arizona last night but let's face it that was luck but Arizona is as hungry as a team gets to beat a team and as always Clayton Kershaw is super juiced today and he's facing a very talented young arm in Zach Godley. Diamondbacks won the season series last year from LA and after Jansen's blowing of their lead last night the Dodgers bullpen and confidence is shaken. Jansen's velocity was down noticeably last night. Clayton Kershaw has been less then effective at Arizona with a 5-7 mark and a 3.75 ERA. Godley put up a 8-9 record with a 3.37 ERA last season. Love the value here normally i'd take the plus money but we will go with added security and the run line. Invest 9 units in Arizona +1.5. ( Arizona Rotation #960 Godley starting)
