Both these sides will play their second game of a back-to-back as they jockey for lottery positions heading into the final games of the season.
Orlando are doing their best to lose games by implementing a far slower brand of basketball than what we saw from Frank Vogel’s side to start the year.
In their last 10 games they’ve averaged just 94.1 points per game and have shot at just 39.2% from the field in their last five. That being said, they’ve also done a great job of slowing down opponents during that stretch.
A lot of that is down to the fact that those five games have come against teams in similar positions to them, but Dallas also fit that bill. The Magic are allowing just 93.4 points per game and giving up just 86.2 field goal attempts per game.
The Mavs meanwhile are taking just 84.4 field goal attempts per game, which in itself is a very low number (the league average is 87.9). If this game is played at a similar tempo as expected than we could see an absolute horror show for neutrals – which results in a dream scenario for Unders betting.
This total may seem low at first glance but given how both teams are shooting, and the fact they’re both on a back-to-back (Dallas are travelling across the country after a late tip-off against the Trailblazers) means we’re actually getting terrific value on this number.
Dallas are set to sit Dennis Smith Jr in this one and that leaves them short of their offensive spark in transition.
We have this total set at around 199.5 so we feel the bookies are giving us a little more juice than they should. The Mavs have seen five of their last six games go Under the points total when playing the second game of a back-to-back, while the Magic have seen six of their last seven overall stay comfortably Under the total.
