A HORRIBLE COLLAPSE by the White Sox cost us a sweep last time around but we’re back to winning ways and look to keep that going
Here’s our best bets for the action ahead:

Kansas City Royals @ Cleveland Indians
The Indians return home hoping to get things rolling against a Kansas team that should allow them to do just that. The Royals will send Danny Duffy to the mound in hopes he can improve on his opening day efforts, but if anything the numbers say we could see a continued decrease in performance from him throughout the 2018 season. The White Sox made light work of the 29-year-old at the mound and he hasn’t fared particularly well against the Indians in the past. Last season, he went 0-3 with a 4.60 ERA in his three outings against Cleveland and is 2-6 against them in his career. The Royals have recorded just two runs in their two road games so far this season and we don’t have them putting much scoreboard pressure on the home team in this one. Our projections have a heavy lean on the Indians and we feel the handicap is vastly overpriced in this one.

Cincinatti Reds @ Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates continued their impressive start to the year as they took their series opener at home to the Cincinatti Reds. If Trevor Williams can pitch anywhere near as well as he did in Detroit to start his season they’ll almost certainly notch another W as well. Williams pitched six scoreless innings and didn’t allow a hit before being retired. He went 1-0 with a 3.31 ERA in his two starts against the Pirates last season. Luis Castillo meanwhile couldn’t have fared any worse. He gave up six runs and six hits against the Nationals to start his season and the 25-year-old is yet to really show his capabilities since being traded to the Reds last season. The home team have a fair more balanced roster and they’re playing at a far more consistent level as well. Our projections have the Pirates winning this one by 2.2 runs and we feel they’re again being overpriced by the bookies given what we’ve seen from them.
