Last nights 14-1 loss to the Red Sox is something that will leave a very bitter taste in the mouths of players and this line is hard not to take the Yankees. I have never been a fan of either pitcher as I think both are overrated but in this case Price has been a very up and down pitcher since joining the Red Sox and Tanaka is 3-2 with a 3.35 ERA at Fenway park. I'm recommending a play on the Phillies as a short home favorite against the Reds in Wednesday's series finale. Philadelphia has won the first two of the series and are now 4-1 at home on the season. Cincinnati is just 2-8 thru their first 10 games and I just feel this is too good a price to pass up on the Phillies.
The Reds are getting some respect here because they are sending out Luis Castillo, who had an impressive rookie campaign and big things are expected of him in 2018. However, he's not pitched well in either of his first 2 starts. He's allowed 10 runs on 12 hits and 4 walks in 10 innings of work.
With the way Philadelphia is swinging the bats right now, I think you have to roll the dice with the home team. Phillies will be giving the ball to Nick Pivetta, who really threw the ball well at home in his last start, allowing just 4 hits with 9 strikeouts in 5 2/3 shutout innings. Take Philadelphia!Comment
