I'm recommending a play on the Angels as a short home favorite against the Red Sox on Wednesday. Boston came in an embarrassed LA in Game 1, as they hit 6 home runs in a 10-1 win. That's a difficult act to follow for the Red Sox and it's going to have the Angels 100% locked in for this contest.
I know Boston is off to a great start, but LA had won 7 straight prior to last night's loss. Simply put, this is too good a price to pass up on a team playing as well as the Angels on their home field. I also give the edge here to LA in the starting pitching department. The Angels will send out Tyler Skaggs, who despite some control problems has posted a 1.69 ERA and 1.187 WHIP in his first 3 starts. Red Sox will counter with Rick Porcello, who has also been off to a strong start, but a big reason for that is he's faced the Rays twice.
It's also worth noting that Porcello has a poor history against these Angels. He's 6-7 with a 5.87 ERA in 16 career starts against LA and has gone just 1-4 with a 5.82 ERA when starting at Angel Stadium. Boston is also just 3-8 in Porcello's last 11 starts against a team with a winning record. Take Los Angeles!

Jack’s Free Pick Wednesday: Los Angeles Angels -118
After getting embarrassed 10-1 by the Red Sox yesterday, the Angels will want revenge at home in Game 2 of this series tonight. Shohei Ohtani had to leave his start early due to a blister, and the Angels could never recover.
Now Tyler Skaggs gets the ball looking to continue his dominant start to the season. Skaggs is 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA and 1.187 WHIP through three starts this year. In his lone career start against Boston, he pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings for a 0.00 ERA.
Rick Porcello is off to a solid start for the Red Sox as well, but two of his starts have come against light-hitting Tampa Bay. He will have his hands full against this red-hot Angels lineup. Porcello has never had much success against them, going 6-7 with a 5.87 ERA and 1.391 WHIP in 16 career starts against Los Angeles.
The Red Sox are 3-8 in Porcello’s last 11 starts vs. a team with a winning record, including 1-4 in his last five starts vs. a team with a winning record. The Angels are 5-0 in Skaggs’ last five starts. Los Angeles is 13-3 in its last 16 games overall. Bet the Angels Wednesday.
