Cleveland Indians @ Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles finally snapped their horror run with a big win over the Indians in their series opener. Despite the win, there’s not a lot of reason to believe they’ll get things going at the plate. Baltimore are averaging just 2.14 runs per game at home this season and have been held to Under 3.5 runs in five of their last six overall – the only exception was when they scored four runs in the final 1 1/3 innings in a 6-5 loss to Detroit. Things won’t get easier for their hitters as they face Mike Clevinger, who is 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA against them in his career. His last start against them saw him give up no runs in six innings as Cleveland ran out 5-0 winners. In fact, he’s yet to give up more than two runs against them. The Orioles as a team haven’t exactly enjoyed much success hitting against the Indians either, with the team failing to score over this total in their last six straight outings against them. We feel we’re getting a terrific price for this total and will happily back Cleveland’s pitching staff to keep the Orioles in check here.

Boston Red Sox @ Oakland Athletics
To say the Red Sox have been sublime to start the year would be an injustice to just how good they’ve been. Now, they send Chris Sale to the mound as they ride an eight-game win streak into this one. While Sean Manaea has started the season well, allowing no more than two runs a game in his four starts, he’ll have nightmares of his career outings against the Red Sox – and now, he has to slow down this explosive offence. Manaea is 1-2 with a 13.50 ERA in his three career appearances against the Red Sox, with his last start being an 11-1 loss against them where he last just over three innings. Boston are averaging 6.47 runs per game on the year, but more impressive is the work from their pitching staff – they’ve allowed just 2.00 runs per game on the road! We’re getting a terrific price on the best team in the majors and simply can’t go past them here.

Houston v Twolves
Down 0-2 it’s very much backs to the wall for Minnesota who were thoroughly embarrassed in Game 2 after a promising showing to start the series.
Mike D’Antoni’s side have shown they can play efficient basketball in a slower playoff environment but have certainly be aided by some horrible play from their opponents.
The home crowd will certainly bring some much needed energy to this Timberwolves team but whether that’s enough to spark them remains to be seen.
The Rockets held their opponents to just 82 points in Game 2 and their efficient defence has certainly made people believe they are capable of knocking off the Warriors in the West.
In their last five starts, dating back to the regular season, Houston have held opponents to just 97.2 points on just 42.3% shooting.
But, perhaps the biggest surprise, is that they are struggling to get their offence to produce the sort of numbers we saw from them for large parts of the season.
In that same stretch, they’ve been shooting at just 41.9% and with the slower tempo being played by them at the moment it’s no wonder to see both games so far stay Under the total.
A lot of that has also come down to the drop in contributions from their second unit who have seen a -8.2 points differential in their last five versus their season average.
The Timberwolves know they can’t beat Houston in a shootout and so they’ll want to ensure they get back on defence to force the Rockets into half court execution without giving up open looks around the perimeter.
Houston have seen their last four straight games stay Under the total when coming off at least two days rest, and three of the last four between these sides have also stayed Unders.
We’re expecting Minnesota to do a better job slowing Houston down in front of a packed out Target Center and feel we’re getting a total that’s about 3.5-4.5 points higher than it should be.

Washington beat the Dodgers last night with the Dodgers ace on the mound Clayton Kershaw. With Kershaw getting beat will anyone really want to bet the Dodgers tonight? Well I do and it gives us great line value as we are getting the Dodgers at +money when in fact the Dodgers should be the favorite in this game. Scherzer went last night for Washington and he had been pitching fantastic. Strasburg goes tonight for Washington and even though he has pitched good he hasn’t been as dominate as Scherzer was. Strasburg has made 7 starts against the Dodgers and even though his ERA has been good his teams record is just 2-5 in those 7 games. The Dodgers will send Hyun-Jin Ryu to the mound tonight and he has been outstanding in his 3 starts. He has a ERA of 2.87 and a WHIP of 0.95. In his last 2 starts he’s been untouchable going 12 innings allowing just 2 runs and has a Strikeout to walk ratio of 17-1. My numbers have LA winning 5-3.
